Norton works fine with Firefox. It includes anti-phishing and warning if you try to visit a malware-infested site.

I wouldn't have thought it would improve the battery life by that much... but hopefully you should gain at least a few more seconds! Hadn't realised you had a Mini 9... mine is a fairly new Mini 10v, so they probably use different versions of the card, which I think are rebadged Ericsson ones anyway. It sounds as if you are getting somewhere anyway, which is good.

I don't use anything other than the built-in Windows Firewall when I'm away from home/office, and use a sandboxed web browser if I have to go anywhere I don't trust/don't already have a shortcut for. My e-mail is scanned at the provider for viruses/spam before it hits my mailbox.

Can you connect with your mini at other hotspots? Will it work with cat5 cable? Mine worked at other hotspots & with cat5 cable. It took a firmware upgrade of my router to connect wireless in Ubuntu (however, other computers worked using windows xp).

To hell with Norton. NOD32 and Malwarebytes Antimalware are the way to go in my book. Beyond that, just make sure your firewall is enabled, and autoprotections are enabled.

Too bad there's not a 'no monitor' option as I would love to use my 32" LCD. Anyone have any thoughts on the AMD Athlon 6850e? I'm guessin' that since it's 1.8Ghz, it with be pretty iffy on full screen Hulu.
