AS YOU LIKE IT + Maria Aitken +...
Published (2009-11-24 08:24:00)
Playbill is running an article about a production of Shakespeare's As You Like It , which will feature music by Michael John LaChiusa. About the concept: Mervyn Rothstein wrote: Aitken says, "in the play Celia declares that they are going 'to liberty, and not to banishment.' America is the embodiment of liberty, and the place to which so many people sought exile. Generations have seen that immigrants' dream...

As long as you know your part. This isn't Drama 102, you're not going to be turning in a paper about your cathartic discovery experience in reading the script.

I don't... think so. I can't think of who it might be. It's really hard to think of someone in that sort of age group... I have to go now. I just realized I have something I need to hand in for my Physics class tomorrow. And with my marks in Physics, I can't afford a zero...

Elisabeth - (formerly WTF)
Published (2009-11-23 18:14:00)
Interesting analysis, Emma. I think that the reason we see Death the way we do is because we are seeing the Death that Elisabeth fell in love with. I always thought that that was from one of Máté's earlier performances. I'm pretty sure he started playing Halál in the late '90s, and he looks so young in that Pixie video, I always just figured it was from an earlier performance. I haven't watched Florian for a while, but...

None of this bothers me. What bothers me is his cojones about saying in TV Guide that he wanted to play Judas in the remake of JCS. I've seen him do songs from the show. He is not Judas material. He is not JCS material. Period. Stop slathering my chocolate with your shit, Adam Lambert. And that goes for you too, Drew Sarich.

I wouldn't say that 20 is too late to keep pursuing theater. If you're really serious about it, try doing community theater, taking dance classes (even if it's a gym class at college like ballroom or something...it can still help!) and continue doing choir at college if you have the time. Look around for auditions for community productions...that will help you get back into the swing of things...

This topic has been moved from the Les Mis board to the Other Shows board because it is no longer about Les Mis. I have also retitled the thread so that folks can figure out what it relates to (WTF wasn't very descriptive). _________________

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet here, but the last performance of the current cast is this Saturday the 20th This has been my favourite cast since the 2005-2006 one and it'll be so sad to see them go. I'll post here about anything they do in their last matinee (a few members of the cast sounded pretty excited when I spoke to them about it a while ago). Is anyone else seeing any of ...

From the musical (which is the only thing I've seen), I don't think there is any subtext.
Maybe it's because I don't think or imagine girls should be together in that way though.
If they were two guys though there would be subtext. I definitely think there are some vibes coming off BOQ and FiYERO...maybe the Wizard and Fiyero too. (I also speculate that Morrible is a man in drag). ...
