Fortunately, Dwayne Johnson doesn't get to do his usual exaggerated facial moves being animated as a bland astronaut. I believe the film was made in Spain. The NY Times has a travel section article about using travel guides to Paris written in the early 19th century. QUOTE The inspiration for my trip was a discovery I made a couple of years ago in the New York Public Library, where I was researching a book on Napoleon and came across two pocket-size, leather-bound volumes, the 1805 and 1810 editions of the Almanach. They made fascinating reading: idiosyncratic and outlandish, filled with arcane...

I've never been to Rainbow but I've heard of lots people who like it. It might say something that all of the people who I hear positive things about it seem to mention that it is "reliable" or other such descriptors that make it sound a bit safe. The NY Times has an article today about an ambitious effort by the NY restaurant workers union to polish and perfect the skills of its members. Although continuous education and improvement has long been a feature of Las Vegas's culinary workers program, it hasn't been a big part of NY's program in the past. The issue has been forced by the Tavern on the Green controversy. The ...

QUOTE(oakapple @ Nov 12 2009, 05:04 PM) The burger is allegedly pretty good. Here's a picture. OK, it's not the Changburger. It's a picture of the bacon cheeseburger at the Sitting Duck in Long Branch New Jersey. My point is that you have to be a special type of idiot not to be able to produce a good burger. Giving kudos to a place for a good burger is like commending ...

QUOTE(omnivorette @ Jan 23 2007, 01:13 PM) Some European rental car company is trying to tell me that a 4x4 is the same as 4-wheel drive. That's not true, right? A 4x4 is a jeep, 4-wheel drive is about the steering. I think a 4x4 has to be placed in all wheel drive mode by the driver. Many "all-wheel" drive cars (Audis, Mercedes 4matics) are permanently so. My own car is full ...
