Perhaps not everyone realizes the terrible misery of this tragedy. Not only has a mother lost her very young daughter, but Marika must be suffering terribly for the realization that her daughter died just a few feet away from her, and she didn't know it or even realize that her daughter was in trouble. If only, if only, she must be thinking -- but she didn't know, she didn't see or hear anything, and now must be suffering...

Hello there, Not sure you've noticed but on 15th street (between P and R), one bike lane was added and in a very interesting and imaginative way: the bike lane is right next to the sidewalk and the cars are parked after it. The net space lost to the street is the same but the bike lane seems much safer.. Could we try this in Mt Pleasant in the streets where there is already a bike lane? That is too bad to hear, but I've had the exact opposite experience there recently. We've been there with a loud (very loud) two year old and were treated extremely well by the same owner. Way better than I ever expected to be given the circumstances. She actually went out of her way to be friendly and help calm what was a pretty loud little boy.
I see kids and families there often....

I switched to comcast because the fastest connection I could get from verizon was a paltry 1.5 mbps when I was paying for the 3 mbps connection. The speed is limited by the existing infrastructure, so it's likely nothing will change until they run fiber for the fios service. Who knows when that will happen.
I'll probably switch back if that ever comes to our neighborhood, but I found ...

I went to the very first one at Cardozo HS for pregnant women and children. I got there around 4 and was out around 6pm. There were definitely some speed bumps in the process but they did try to make it as seamless as possible.
