Use the gmail app to get gmail.? Email app is only for going direct to the POP server.

i have owned many Windows based phones from different manufacturers that stopped getting updates to newer windows mobile OS's. i am not saying that this is going to happen to the CLIQ but it happens all the time to many if not all manufacturers phones.

Help with some apps for cliq
Published (2009-11-21 13:39:00)
I don't have any apps to recommend, but I can help with a couple of your items: 2. - you can go into settings -> applications; and for each app you can clear its real data and cached data 6. - copy/past can be achieved via a tap and hold in most areas - you will get a pop up menu

Droid - Strange Behavior

Are you using a program that lets you run themes? Like PandaHome? Force killing those programs can cause problems. Also force closing all programs is unnecessary unless there is a poorly written program that is causing problems.

loose vibrate motor?
Published (2009-11-21 23:24:00)
i might be totally wrong about this (wouldn't be the first time), but i think it's the battery that vibrates.? there isn't a vibrate motor.? maybe your cover is loose? edit:? nevermind.? LOL I just did a google search, and there actually is a vibrate motor.? doh!? sorry for the intrusion.? could have sworn i read somewhere that the battery is what vibrates.

Published (2009-11-20 11:35:00)
I am able to actually get the phone to dial a contact by holding down the magnifying glass and using the Voice Search. "Call John Smith at Work" resulted in the phone dialing the number with no interaction from me.

Possible solution to screen lock...
Published (2009-11-20 17:36:00)
This is obviously a hack to fix this, the ideal solution would be for the Moto engineers to fix the code so the screen never locks under any circumstance while in a call, with the exception of the proximity screen blanking.? Will this be a fix for everyone?? Don't know, but can't hurt to try it out. I my self like the concept of the auto screen lock, just not when in a call.

CLIQ: Unable to Send POP3 email
Published (2009-11-21 11:10:00)
I agree with Sean. I know there have been some longer wait times but I think your experience calling Motorola was pretty extreme. I would try again. Sorry I can't help but this is out of my league.

You are reading PC World and then using that information to complain? Have you actually gone into a Verizon store to verify the information because if you have, I'm sure that would help us all. As for the doubling of cancellation fees, let me explain how such things work. If you went into a Verizon store and were told it could not cost you anything to tether the Droid, you get it in ...

Well at the rate that my DROID is going, I'll be there by Thanksgiving. I've had the phone since Thursday and have had to charge it 6 times already. When I first got it, it was at 60%. I set it up, had my contacts ported over, then shut it off for a night on the charger. The next day, I used it untill the phone shut down, then pluged it in and left it off untill it was fully charged again (...

I've seen reviews that say that there is no voice dailing over a bluetooth headset. Is this true? Will Motorola add this feature. This capability has been available on other phones for a long time, and would be a deal breaker for me. "Iphone killer" HAS to have this feature!

The "Play" button (right pointing triangle) turns to a "Pause", two parallel lines. Press this to stop the music. Unfortunately, you must get to the media player to do this ... elsewhere in the phone there isn't a way. UNLESS you modify the phone :-) So ... go to the home screen or one of the alternate home screens you get to by wiping left or right on the home screen (don't ...

This may be more of a Verizon thing, Microsoft thing than a Droid thing, not sure yet, but... I live in AZ and we don't switch time on Daylight savings / fallback. When syncing my corp calendar with Droid, any meeting I scheduled (before the time switch, thus before getting the DROID) is an hour later than it should be, i.e. on my Outlook it shows correct time, on Droid it shows an hour ...

I have had this problem - very annoying. It could easily be lost. I carry the Droid in my pocket and it doesn't take much to make the cover fall off.

Is anyone else having trouble connecting to their router? My Droid says I am connected to my router and my 3G icon is replaced with a full signal WiFi icon but I can't surf or do anything. Facebook, yahoo msgr, etc, they all tell me that I am not connected.

I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem. Is there anything specific that you are doing that results in this behavior, or does it just happen without you doing anything? Thanks!
