Good luck with that, Clint. I was down and out for five days two weeks ago. Dizziness, muscle/joint pain, headache, extreme fever and dry cough. Absolutely the sickest I've been for 20 years. That last time was in basic training when they shot me full of all kinds of crap. Thought I was going to die the next morning.

They went to efi in 2006 with the 650. The 1250 came out in '07. The only letter I'm aware of is the S, indicating the half-faired model. Too complicated fer ya?
I put in a jet kit in 2003 and haven't "screwed" with them since. The new bikes are nice, but if cost is a factor, the second-generation bikes are great, too. You might get into an '07 for under 5 grand if you're patient.

The M109R is what got me looking at Suzuki's, but the fact that I was a first time rider with very little fear factor behind the wheel or bars of anything led me to err on the side of caution for my wife and children's sake. I put quite a bit of showroom seat time on the M109R before ever sitting on an C/M50. It's my future bike for sure and I hope to squeeze in a testride when I get the bank ...

Good news for you. Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders at a young age, that will serve you well.
1. Most MSF courses train you on 250cc which is great. However you'll outgrow it in about 1 month after completing the course and wish you had something more substantial. You can't go wrong with a 250cc to start but I wouldn't buy one. At your size you could easily handle a V-Star ...
