Black Box PCM redline?
Published (2009-11-28 15:15:00)
Anyone know where we had that thread on the BB PCM redline not being over 6k? Either way, I was wondering if the problem isn't the PCM, but it is the cal. Why? The ignition dwell. If too high, the PCM might drop off ignition coil voltage so fast, it can't run over that. These trucks run so hot, especially on 454's and could be GM just trying to keep the coil cool. Ignition coil function and testing I played with these values and...

Went back to look at the dyno charts...we couldn't baseline the truck because it came in with a bad roller--so we didn't do a base dyno on the stock engine. The results were from installation only (baseline stock ECM)--to retuned. That's why the lower gain.

Jet DST

Any experience with the Jet DST and MXScan? I have the 14005 model, and after I tried to obtain the crc the Jet unit will no longer function (hardware error when trying to communicate). I returned the unit and received a new one...I won't try it again though w/o some experience first. BTW. Craig said it should work...received his reply after I trashed the unit. (I'm not blaming, just stating).

need pcm file help
Published (2009-11-26 15:05:00)
What definition file R U using with the new PCM should be $EE or $EEb .. For general info the 95 vette has a CCM (Chassi Control Module) the 95 vette PCM software needs to communicate with the CCM before the PCM is operatable. Once you load vette software in a non y-body the software is non functional. I can send you a stock '94 A4 tune, but the PCM with a vette load is dead till you can get it fixed. If you had a 95 vett you could power...

The ZZ502 cam sounds great in a 502, it will be even better in 454.
I would for sure keep it EFI. No real reason to need a carb IMO. The PCM for the 454 is easily tuned.

I have a '96 Buick RoadMaster and have been using both its stock PCM and a couple of F-body LT1 PCM's as I've played with tuning it.
WinFlash doesn't allow me to take a read from a Buick PCM and Flash it to a Camaro PCM.
What's the easiest way in JET DST for me copy from one to the other, or am I going to have to continue to make changes one-at-a time? (It hasn't been much of a bother up ...
