While they both involve using an implement to interlock loops of yarn, crocheting and knitting are not the same thing, but many people who enjoy one also enjoy the other. Crocheting uses a single hooked needle, and knitting uses two straight or semicircular needles. I live in Eastern NC and with exception of a few days it stays fairly decent until mid January. I do not wear tights or boots. I do wear capris and longer length shorts with sandals even at this time of year.

I set up a trust fund, for both of my grand daughters. It started with CD's and they would mature, and then I would buy another CD. After it got to a certain amount. I just put it into a money market. And then would buy another CD. The trust is ear mark for college, or if they don't go to college, I will give it to them when they get married. One thing, in my will, I have the trust, going to them when they start college. But if they...

I agree...5 hours sounds really high to me. You always have to consider the source with these things I think. My guys aren't big tv watchers to begin with, they'd rather be outside to be honest.

I usually do most if it by myself. My tree is such a pain in the BUTT to put up that by the time it is up, I am so grouchy that I dont want anyone messing it up. I am so hoping to get a new tree this year.

I think on honest people cannot sell a product they don't believe in. I myself will find a hard time convincing someone to buy this or that if I myself don't like it or don't know about it.

The first thing I would do is see if there is a homeschool support group in your area. The first year I homeschooled we were alone and it was okay but when I found the group it was so much better. The group had bowling clubs, book and reading clubs, middle and high school clubs, basketball and cheerleading, all kids of things to keep them busy. It was great for me to hear stories from other ...

I did a little shopping on Thanksgiving day a few years ago when K-Mart was open. I really enjoyed it because there were no crowds.
I don't work right now but I did when I shopped at K-Mart that year and it's a nice day to shop for someone who only has Thanksgiving Day off and doesn't have the option of shopping on Black Friday because they are working.

For me, computer labels are a lifesaver. We send about 100 cards each year, and I don't know how long it would take to write out each address by hand - I don't want to find out! If I want to personalize the card, I'll write something inside. To me, that adds more meaning than hand-addressing the envelope.
Plus, neither dh nor I have nice handwriting, so to me they just look so ...

" With the economy like it is, I hope you don't mind, but we are just getting presents for our kids, this year. But maybe we can get together with a potluck supper to celebrate the holidays"
Chances are, other family/friends, are experiencing money being tight too, and are glad that you made the decision not to exchange gifts.

We have a family practice doctor. All four of us see him, which is really nice. Plus, the office is smaller and closer to our home so it makes scheduling doctor's visits much easier.

Actually I like Pumpkin it is sweet potato I hate. Do you make it from scratch? I like my own homemade over a store bought one any day. I use 5 egg whites whipped into a Meringue, blend the other ingredients in a separate bowl and then gently fold into the egg mixture. It bakes up really light and fluffy. Just have to use a deep dish pan, I usually use a spring form for this. Otherwise ...

Fresh is always best, but you can't buy too much at a time or it spoils before you can use it. I keep canned and frozen on hand for times when I don't have the time or money to stop at the produce stand on the way home.
