How often do you have to true...
Published (2009-12-02 17:54:00)
If you are starting with the machine-built wheels and have the time or cash, you are probably better off to take the brand new wheel, loosen up all the spokes, and start the truing process from scratch. (or have an LBS do it for you) (from a non-pro that happens to have built a lot of wheels) There are a lot of spoke tension combinations that will result in the wheel looking true before riding. But unless the spokes (on each side) are all...

Spingvale Singletrack Work Day
Published (2009-12-01 19:05:00)
I still wish to heck it would snow, but until then, I got my backside back on my Trek and rode our new trail (and much more) at Springvale. Trail still needs some work, and found out by riding it that there are some things we need to change, but it is going to be a fun trail when we get it done. Decided to keep the bike out until we get enough good snow to ski on.

News, trail updates, sign creation, trail planning and more, but all of it pales in comparison to the unveiling of the super secret year-end party plans.
I, for one, would not want to miss a minute of it.

Your wheels were "machine built" and not built by hand. The spokes were never tensioned right and were most likely looser than optimum.
Buy a truing stand and start making your own wheels.

I have often wondered but never asked why some riding spots seem much more sensitive to riding after precipitation (or thaw) than others? For instance, Theo is usually closed for 24 or more hours after rain because it damages the trail.
Hillside on the other hand remains open under similar (or worse) conditions. Is this because some areas, due to slope or ...

No, there are no maps available at this time. I doubt they will be posted. Sometimes it is easier to keep it out of the public eye. We have had trouble on a few trails with flags being pulled (corridor marking flags) or people accessing trails before they are complete, so it is easier just to keep the trail corridor information not public.
If you have any ...
