I have a home built server that is a SFF and only has one internal SATA HD and one low profile PCI slot. I need to add more drive space and have been looking at external enclosures. Anyone out there in my same boat and if so what type of external drive did you add? The backup is driven from the client computer rather than the server. So the laptop will decide when to back up, not Windows Home Server. The client does this by choosing a random time in the first half of the window to try to back up. If the server can be reached, the client will queue up a backup, which will run if it starts before the end of the window. If the client can't reach the server, it obviously doesn't back itself up. The 19.99 USD vs 29.99 USD prices make sense. Given the 30% commission for items sold through the Marketplace the developer is making about 20 USD for the sale regardless of where the customer purchases it from. You have two choices. 1. Restore them to another PC that is still running OneCare and copy them over. 2. use WinZip or a 3rd party archive program to manually unzip the data files and manually copy them over.
