If that is true there is only one thing that is happening. They are re-packaging the AM up with a translator. _________________ "When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin

WTCM-FM
Published (2009-11-25 08:54:00)
Considering WTCM-FM has been the market's #1 Arbitron rated station for years on end (with maybe just 2 or 3 books being exceptions), it is not surprising that it would be voted #1. The station deserves its success -- it sounds damn good and rivals country stations in much larger markets in terms of content quality. _________________ Saving Abel blows

Low Power AM
Published (2009-11-21 14:59:00)
Having tinkered with a few part 15 circuits and setups, I can tell you that some of them sound pretty damn good, fidelity-wise. I've heard a few that sounded horrible, but I can say the same about a few "legal" stations for that matter *cough*1570*cough*. In some small towns, Part 15 AM is the only "local" radio service there is. Because of the 10 foot antenna limitation (loading coils are legal...

Carmen Harlan wardrobe malfunction?
Published (2009-11-25 15:56:00)
Hmmm let's see, we've seen Carmen in a dress so low cut it looked like we were watching a fence with tube socks hung over it anchoring from the NAIAS. The year before at the NAIAS or the Dream Cruise (can't remember which) she was in a full leather body suit so tight she looked like a porno version of one of the XMen. Im willing to bet that if Carmen tried to anchor the news completely topless with pasties that flashed lights on...

Fact Check Please (WDIV)
Published (2009-11-21 11:56:00)
Apparently the WDIV reporter that covered the story didnt know that Chevrolet is part of GM. Strange, isnt it........that WDIV is the only TV station of the big three, that's actually IN the city of Detroit, and they didn't know this. Embarrassing too........that the younger reporters are being tossed out there to cover automotive stories, and they're CLUELESS as to what they're talking about.

It has been over a month that WVMV FM at 98.7 MHz on FM changed from Smooth Jazz to Mainstream CHR Radio as 98.7 AMP Radio.
What i find strange is that no other radio station in Detroit is willing to pick up the Smooth Jazz format.
107.5 FM WGPR would do great by picking back up the Smooth Jazz format but not just R&B mixed with jazz music like before as The Jazzy 107.5, but 107.5 ...

Here's what I don't understand...
Barrington wants to move WPBN-DT to Kalkaska even though they can simply rebroadcast NBC programming on 29.2 from that exact same site if they want. They would wind up losing an avenue to hit most viewers in West Central Michigan with their NBC and ABC brands in the process. A full power facility from Harrietta on, say, RF channel 10 could've been used ...

I seriously doubt a raincoat would be the best they could come up with if Carmen's tit suddenly came flying out.

I bought a Viore from Costco online.
99 bucks. Rechargeable..... Absolutely great reception.
It seems that a few of these guys are jumping on the 99 dollar portable tv.
I did see one with a 3 or 4 inch screen to take to games.
Good stuff.
It is odd that these are only being made by what we'd call "off brand" companies.

Less than 10 years ago BBDO had 1,500 employees at that office.
Campbell Ewald will be next as it looks like the Chevrolet advertising could leave town fo the first time in the history of the company.
Doner has lost a large amount of work and has had massive layoffs as well.
The Detroit advertising and post production community have been absolutely devastated over the last ...

You'll be seeing all kinds of goofy things like that on 8 from now on. Management there is completely brand/consultant/hype-driven. No one with any news sense has any say-so. It will get stranger and stranger.

I know this might take some thought, but who influenced you, what were you willing to do to get ahead etc?

WWJ Newsradio 950 had a story earlier in the week about Dalgleish Cadillac closing its doors on Friday, after 90 years.
GM apparently didn't like the fact that most of the dealer's customers were from the suburbs.
No wonder GM's in such a mess. The dealership was making money. Who cares where the customers came from.
GM will finally get its act together when it dumps a ...

Did anyone at Citadel contact these Timeless stations and say "sorry about this....blah, blah, blah,.....and offer other Citadel programming options?
It seems almost insane just to pull the plug and piss away (and piss off) 300+ stations. Was Timeles s that much of a drain on Citadel's bottom line?

I thought health care was free and paid for already in Canada.
We pay about 60 dollars a month for dental through my wife's work and cleanings are free and everything else is half off.
