FYI, the Bill of Rights has no legal standing. Just saying. ? ETA: incidentally, all these items in the 2nd Bill of rights are what is escalating the flow of jobs out of the US. I would like freedom from monopolies. Let's start with govt bungling and control of the educational system. I'm wondering why Congress just does not pass legislation outlawing unemployment and? mandating 15 to 20% growth rates for the equities markets, thus...

Could anyone tell me how many jobs would be created if we could drill for oil anywhere we wanted to? Not that many to get the oil.? However, it could be massive if it lowers the number of dollars going to other countries.? ? Right now most foreign countries take the dollars and buy US treasuries.? This will make the actual number very dificult to determine.

yogii I would have punched that doctor.? Is there someone you can complain to about her bedside manner?? That was extremely unprofessional of her and you are probably not the only woman she has done that too. ? I know there are people you can complain to about stuff like that, I just forget the person's official title.? Personally I would log a complaint against her b/c there is no reason someone who is supposed to be a medical...

Another news article said that the woman had not bothered to feed the kid before flying. It said she had a feeding strategy that had worked as far as helping keep the kid quiet in the past.? In other words, her strategy was supposed to help, not make things worse.? Timing of the flights threw things off, and she probably didn't think it through.? But that statement indicates she was attempting to keep the kid quiet.

I am so very sorry, sea, and?I hope you get everything Obama is offering. We are dying out here. Demoralized, hurting beyond hope. BUT-- do not give up hope!! I am going to search for a post I made earlier. There is hope. Really. I now work 100 hours a week. Sometimes the only hope I feel is when my grandbabies laugh, or fart, or whatever. Reminds me that life goes on. You are going to be okay. We all are.

I couldn't agree more, there are so many necessary things that are simple to cure but need bodies to complete the tasks. ? We need to rebuild not just the country but the countries work ethic. ? During the depression people were happy just to find some work to make some money to eat. Now people have become spoiled by an easy lifestyle of doing nothing and expecting everything. ? This period of time will be a new beginning of humility and...

I like Rachael, she's intelligent, and has a good stage presence. (But I realize it is commentary, about as much a news show as FOX) but Olbermann is just the lefty version of Hannity and O'Reilly.

So my question is this (really it's two or three questions). How do you
play two companies pre merger. and then if they do merge what happens
to the stock you hold in either one? Does it disapear from one company
and you loose the investment or does it turn into the stock of the new
company? It depends on the terms of the deal. Usually if companies merge or one company buys another company out...

jt3219 ... AGNC is quite an accidental find! Earnings expected to increase in the next year to well over $4 per share. They have sold shares to raise capital several times at increasing prices. That is a very good dividend which may be maintained. More insider buys than sells. Suspect it may be a good buy, imo.

What an unfair mischaracterization of Donna Freedman. I own two dogs and realize how important it is to properly maintain their comfort, medications, preventative care and regular visits to the vet in addition to their food. She's only imparting common sense here.

I think the market will tank very fast and hit definitely under 9,000 and probably under 8,000 by Xmas. It is simply too overvalued and only a few companies are earning money. Commodity stocks are the only sectors I would invest in. Oil and gas stocks, and mining stocks.

Well, cheer up because my representative emailed me with his intention of filing HR676 which calls for a single payer system. This will be, according to him, given a "straight up and down vote" in Congress. It's designed to replace the language of the current bill HR3200. I emailed him back and told him he was a disgrace.

V_L - as I see them? So what the Wall Street Journal,Fortune 500,BBC,ABC,NBC,CBS,New York Times,Chicago Tribune and countless other news reporting agencies have to say I pick it out from them but I can not share it because it is not my view? What I report is not my view. It 'is' the view of news agencies across the globe. You have me confused. Are you telling me that I should not report anymore ...

If you have a strong stomach and are able to keep a close eye on the market, learn to swing trade. If you don't have to pay attention to your day job then learn to day trade. This market has pretty much topped out until the economy recovers in a significant way (i. e. gain jobs instead of losing them).

Funny.... Theres an article on cnn.com right now about how GDP was up but the economy is supposedly still getting worse. Then they put up a buch of "supporting" graphs that show how all the metrics (many of which are still not good), have all drastically improved in recent months. Aparently they didn't have their top economist help out with that story....
