It should be a flat rigid bag that hangs on the battery frame. unless the car is a 4.5 V8. I have the flat rigid plastic bags in stock all of the time. We'll be open again Monday. Closed for the holiday weekend. have a great Thanksgiving.

Trans Service @2005 E-320 sedan 30K
Published (2009-11-25 23:27:00)
MB originally (starting in the '90s I believe) recommended that their "sealed for life" transmissions would not need a fluid change or flush for the life of the car or at least 100K miles. But after a few xmissions failed and law suits began to fly, Daimler quietly put out a service bulletin about five years ago to all of their techs suggesting that the fluid be changed and flushed on a regular basis. Specifically, they...

Why would anyone want to sell...

Diesel powered passenger cars in the US will always be a tough sell, niche market for a brand like Mercedes-Benz. However, what is the actual cost(s) to MB or MBUSA to offer the powerplant in an existing product line?

ML 320 Rear Shocks
Published (2009-11-25 17:12:00)
Well, it may be time to change the rear shocks as I keep hearing a definite "thump" over any and all road irregularities...but it only has 192k miles on it! So, what is the cheapest rear shock I can get and is it something I can take off and bolt on or is it the old strut setup where you have to compress the spring, etc. or risk a cannon shot when it releases? Thanks in advance, dave

Trans Service @2005 E-320 sedan 30K
Published (2009-11-25 17:35:00)
I'm not yet persuaded that transmission problems result from too-old fluid, and that if one wants the transmission to last over 100k miles one must change fluids more frequently than M-B specifies. My '04 CL500 had its transmission fail at 20k miles (needed new valve body) six months after the warranty period ended. As part of the repair the fluid was changed as well. Was defiled transmission fluid to blame for this failure? Should...

Hi, Allan...
Coming from a family whose great uncle was the guru of Stanley Steamers in Greensboro, NC...I would love to see a few pics of this car! It must be hard to think about selling it.
Any idea on price, etc? Not that I can afford it, but....

This year I enjoyed MotoGP more then F1.
F1 had a crazy year; cheating, KERS, Max Mosely, Bernie Ecclestone- and I understood what he was trying to express and took no offense to any of his comments. Just that everything taken as a whole made for a weird season.
What is the story with Kimi Raikkonen? did you see the youtube video where he was drunk on his boat and falling on his head?

Looks like the amount charged was related to motor size. Good thing it wasn't an E500.

I see your point. I think diesels have always been a niche market here in the USA. While almost half to a third of cars in Europe are diesel powered, the USA is a much different story (the 1-2% of overall diesel sales in new 3-series BMW is not surprising).
Diesels will sell in the USA under a limited basis, though. The diesel drivers in the USA are quite passionate and that is a market ...

I have a used one in good condition and the bracket that fits into the trunk lid. They were not supplied in the U.S. nor can they be purchased at the dealer. PM me if you want it. Thank you! And yes they will fit into the trunk lid of U.S. spec sedans.

Call 1-800-FOR-MERCedes and ask someone in Customer Service. You might get different answers from dealers or independent shops. If I remember correctly, it's 100K miles... but I could be wrong. Did you look in the books that came with the car?

Hard to say. Slipping in all gears, including reverse, is kind of odd. I mean, if one or 2 clutch sets or bands was worn, you'd see slip here and there, but everywhere?
I've rebuilt a trans, once, with help, but I'm not a trans expert by any means. I'm more of an electrical guy. But it just seems to me that something else must be going on - that is, things are probably not "worn out" thus ...

Although the sensors are inexpensive, they are totally reusable so long as they are not damaged. Take them out carefully, as they can be broken with some effort. I always re-use them, but have extras in the parts bin just in case.
Oh, and this is most certainly a good DIY project. Just do yourself a favor and do it right: Clean everything with a wire brush (wear a dust mask & don't touch the...

Review: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe
There's only one thing the Mercedes E350 is missing – about 100-hp. We hate to start off on a bad note with this car, but the base 3.5-liter V6 makes just 268-hp and an equally mediocre 258 ft-lbs of torque. It's not a bad amount of output, but hardly what you might expect from a Mercedes ...

I doubt there is any gain to be had between the sizes. Best bet is to upgrade the wheel to a 15 inch. You would have to adjust speedometer to be accurate, but you should gain a mile or so per gallon.
Best way to gain efficiency is to keep the engine in tune, the tires pumped up, and fluids changed. Do not drive with AC on, and reduce rabbit starts and hard braking.

The 560 is an M117. 967. Look at the top of the block behind the Dr. side head. This is where the engine number is stamped.
