I can't help you with your questions, but if you registered as a Marine Friend instead of a Marine Family, then you would've been able to post this in the Ask A Marine forum where it belongs. A Marine Family member is someone who has a member of their family in the Marines.

Adopting my sister's baby.

A letter from his command authorizing you to travel unaccompanied. MAC flight 10 bucks plus meals. Bring your ID card and passport. After all the adoption paper work is completed you will still need a passport for the child in order for him her to travel back to Okinawa with you. As harsh as it may sound ... temporary foster care might sound like the best idea right now until your tour in Okinawa is completed.

Rifle and Pistol Badge Placement
Published (2009-11-06 07:26:00)
This is taken out of MCO1020.34G w/ ch 1-5 2. Badges are worn, according to seniority, centered above the left breast pocket, with the bottom edge of the highest holding bar 1/8 inch above the pocket's top edge (see fig. 5-5). The top edges of all badges will be aligned. 3. When men wear two badges, they are symmetrically placed on a line with about 3/4-inch space between holding bars, but in no case will they span more than 4 1/4-inches....

Quick thing at GDean, the Marine Corps does not have basic training, they have boot camp, there is nothing basic about becoming a Marine. Just a little FYI.

As for the top buttons, I'm pretty sure they come off but not 100% sure myself, sorry.

Its been a few years now since I was stationed at Camp Lemonier, and facilities have been improved (at least they were working on it when I left).
The biggest thing is the heat in the summer. With the heat index expect temperatures in the 130/140 range, and getting 'down' to around 90 in the evening. In the 'winter', expect highs in the 90s and lows in the 70s.
I know when I was there ...

MARINE CORPS UNIFORM REGULATIONS
Articles that may be worn while in uniform include inconspicuous wrist watches and rings. Sunglasses may be worn on leave, liberty, and in garrison but not in formation with troops, unless the need to wear sunglasses has been certified by medical authorities. When authorized for wear in formations, sunglass lenses will be of standard green or dark ...

Look through the poolee section of this site, there is a ton of useful information scattered around. Boot camp is 90% mental, 10% physical. Everyone differs, the hardest part for me was the humps and the crucible. The mental things I handled fine.

Unless you have the specific contract that guarantees you a try out, then no one can guarantee you any try out.
You would need to get answers from recent graduates of infantry school because things change so often these days.
Read through this thread. Maybe it will help you.

Go with what your gut tells you to. If you go Enlisted you will always have
a chance to go OCS since you already have a degree. I knew some Marines
that already had a degree and chose to enlist instead.

Profile up, Sir, and tell us where this person is.
Lets see, 75 - 56 = 19.
Yeah, he coulda been there, but not in the jungles at 16 and 17 years old.
I have a story about a bullet going in, so ask him about where it came out. Have him show you the scars, front and back. Do it gently.
POW, I think not. You know him, see if his name is on this list - http://www....

Thats good to hear. We hopefully one day will be Marines and should be held to the highest of standards. Personally I would like to see them as 8 pull ups, 60 sit ups, and a run time of 12:30

I would say that the fleet is the hardest part when it comes to being a Marine. You do not have anyone there to make sure that you get to formation on time and yes it becomes the individual Marine's job to maintain fitness.
At the end of the day we are Marines-we are the best and we will continue to do what needs to be done hard or easy.

mainly the 03xx series is not open to females. That would translate to any combat (infantry, artilley...) unit. I thought you were going into intel? Have you changed or are wanting to change your MOS?
