spent last night in L&D

Did they determine what was causing the problems... stress from the move, overdoing it physically, etc??? Does being a L&D nurse make it harder to be PG because you know everything that could go wrong? Hope your move goes well and that you get to take it easy over the holidays. Glad that LO seems to be OK!

That is tough! I totally understand your desire to be home for the holidays! I really miss my family and all our family traditions at christmas at Christmas (they live in europe, a little too far to travel just for christmas!). However, if I was in your situation i would stay home! The biggest reason is the distance... if something happened i'd want to be close to my doctor who knows what is going on. I'm sure there are great...

Need advice...(long)
Published (2009-12-15 23:29:00)
Hi Nancy and everyone, Thank you for the advice...I really thought about it all the past few days and we have decided to stay here. Making the decision and deciding to just stay put has really been a load off and has felt really good, so I know it's the right one. Really when it came down to it I had to ask, what is the absolute best situation for baby? Staying here is the least stressful scenario, and therefore the best scenario. And we...

Bed Rest Chat
Published (2009-12-15 18:56:00)
Oh, my. I've now been on the terbutaline pump for 3 days. They have been long days. The first day was bad because they started me on too high a dose despite me being very clear about how sensitive i am to it, not only to its intended effect, but the side effects too. I am on a continuous dose as well as blus does every 4 hours. My heartrate went from my normal in the 60's to the 120's, and was still 114 3 hours after one of the...

DH called me an incubator!!!!
Published (2009-12-15 18:02:00)
Yeah, I gotta say, today I feel much better about it today. I am not mad. I wasn't mad last night when he said it either....just really upset. Any thoughts on what to do to make him feel more a part of what I am going through rather than an observer that is completely uninvolved? I bought him the What to Expect book, suggested daddy blogs that were interesting/funny. And he has read them, but just really hasn't seemed to have...

100 Days and Counting!

Yay! I'm officially at 100 days until my due date! Since I'm due March 26th, I guess I'm one of the last to hit that milestone. Feels good! What is your count? Jennifer

M - I'm so sorry! I know that was really hard on you. It made me think your poor DH though (NOT taking his side!lol) it sounds like he has no idea what his part is right now or what to do or how to handle the pregnancy or you. ((HUGS))

We'll be using mostly Sweet Pea One Size Pocket diapers... they're very inexpensive pocket diapers, and work great.

i hope you feel better soon and get used to the pills so they dont upset your tummy anymore. I have been getting the iron shot every month for like 2 or 3 years now because i could not tolerate the pills so if that is an option for you maybe you could talk to the doc about it. i dont get sick or anything on it and it kicks in almost right away

How long have you been on bed rest? What time? I've been on Modified bedrest for 2 days. What are you on bed rest for? Pre-term labor. So far contractions have been controlled through medication. How is you DH taking it? DH has been great so far. He reminds me when I'm doing too much and kicks me out of the living room to the bedroom. How about other kids in the house? DS was having a ...

IMO- I would stay home. It seems very stressful. I, also, have both sets of parents living in one town. They don't get along with one another, so our time is split. It can be so stressful to go home for any amount of time. They both get jealous if we spend time with the other. It is soooo hard! As much as I would love to see family at Christmas I have already told DH that is won't happen...

Hi everyone!
A little bit about myself... I am 32 years old, married to my best friend, Jason, we have a 2 year old daughter named Alysha, and I am due March 10th with a boy. We live in a small town in Southern Ontario, and I work as a highschool math teacher. I love this board, but find that I don't get to post as much as I would like... so I tend to lurk more, and reply when I think that...

I am so sorry to hear this :( I have been there, there was a real lack of intimacy or physical closeness between DH and I in my last pregnancy, this one has been much better so far. Soon it will all be a distant memory, and it will all be worth it. Men can be so silly sometimes. I even made mine read the "dads" section in "What to Expect when you are Expecting" and sent him some websites ...

I haven't had that experience but I have had friends that have been in that situation and after the baby has been born everything is ok. I am the one that doesn't really want it. I think it is more of a guy thing. I really hope it gets better for you. I know that having sex "doggy style" could take away that anxiety for him and might be more comfortable for you. Sorry TMI. I am not quite ...

Awww, how sweet! DH and I agreed not to get eachother gifts this year. We can't really afford it, but I couldn't help getting him a couple books. But that will be it. We are remodeling our kitchen for eachother. :)

So glad that the contractions have stopped and that you are home. That baby needs to cook a while longer : ) P&PT that the meds do the trick to keep the contractions at bay. Can I ask, what does your doc consider to be modified bedrest? Up and down for bathroom/ eating only, or something else? Ronni-kay

The risks that come along with the epidural, no matter how small of a chance there are with each risk, I don't think it is worth taking the chance just to not feel pain.
