Terry: Ive posted a test version for you to see if a simple fix will fix that up. I suspect a timer is larger than most in some systems, meaning the pci clock is running faster than 2,147,483,648 ( 2.1Ghz) clocks per second. If so, the system woudl go negative. The test system should allow for clocks as fast as 4,294,967,296 ( 4.2Ghz ). ut Ive noticed on newer systems the pci bus runs at full cpu clock speed, so I highly suspect thats why the...

Well the problem didn't get solved after the step adjustments. I know I really appreciate everyone helping in here and the dedication to this issue, as fortino pointed out. Thanks William, Well, The motor step tuning didn't help. The parts came out almost the same as all the others before. I actually think they came out worse. I took two more pics 5671 and 5672 on my site. One has the main drill holes lined up the other had the...

We are only talking a few pulses a second here. A macro should be fine. The one I built had no problems though it was some time back so macros may run slower these days. Les himykabibble wrote: > If you're actually reading the pulses in the macro itself, you're going to be severely limited in speed - VB is *very* slow. As far as I know Gcode was developed from HPGL originally used in cnc drilling machines, I think Jon Elson's looked at part of the history of it. I know within my firm in the past my brother has written various file converters for HPGL, I think originally when we bought a plotter without any drivers, but he's done other software for a local firm to convert it to drive their Bridgeport machines. This was over 14 years ago though and...

Hi T , yes your avg. would be .006 . Be sure when your running the calibrator, that you set you rapid speed to 10ipm max (motor tuning velocity) That way you won't get any shove on your vised caliper. Also, take note that you will see the offset diff. in your DRO's when you return to "0". Then zero X and run a measure test again. If your still running long, try knocking off manually 5 steps at a time until you run...

Hi Thomas, Things would be better if I typed what I calculated. Yes, of course the average error in the 6 inches is 6.006. The math is very simple to calculate the step correction: Since it moved too far too many pulses were issued. There were 6006/6.000 pulses too many= 1.00100 So by dividing your old number by the 1.00100 you will get the new correct value. 40000% 1.00100= 39,960.03996 just as the built in calculator arrived at. I do not...

Hi Thomas, Those values look pretty good,  It tells me that you are getting good parts now and the previous ones were messed up.  You may be able to reduce those small errors with screw mapping function.  Bill had some good thing to say about it.  Bill can you tell us how you use it?  great progress T, Jim >--- On Wed, 11/25/09, T < tmast0r@... > wrote: From: T < tmast0r@... > Subject:...

No. It didn't help :-( Tried various values for the resistor, but it doesn't seem to have a noticeable effect. While the turret rotates, the input LED on the diags screen registers first couple of pulses than misses a few in a row and then registers the remaining few. The LED on the BOB blinks precisely on every slot. Will do more testing of my 555 timer circuit later though, may be I messed up some values... Daniel...

You should have two pairs of wires, with each pair having one red wire and one black wire. Take the red wire from either pair, and connect it to the black wire from the other pair.
