Flex behavior = weird. need help.

Which algorithm were you using? And you're saying that when you turned off Flex for that particular track, the audio became compressed? It didn't just revert to the original? Did you have quantize turned on for that region or regions? Just throwing a few things against the wall to see if anything sticks here.

[sorry I cross posted in the other thread accidently] Audio monitoring is still not working correctly here (update 25 Nov). It appears to work but will not route to the correct outputs of my audio device as selected in the preferences (FireFace800)

Franken/iMac I7 27" for Logic
Published (2009-11-24 17:40:00)
I was just thinking last night, if the new quad iMac had two internal 3.5" drive bays, or even two 2.5" drives with at least one being a large/fast SSD for recording, it would be a sick music production machine. But it doesn't (yet). I agree that the slot-loading optical drive in the iMacs generally suck. They are slow, and in my case, haven't lasted very long even with very careful treatment. But are the iFixIt...

When I was in Japan (until 2007) Yamaha and Casio both offered quite good 88-key weighted keyboards with MIDI i/o for great prices. (Prices not as good now if you are exchanging US$.) Anyway, some have USB, but even if they do not, a USB-MIDI interface should only run an extra 3-4000 yen.

i just need battery 3, minimoog V, a good PMI piano sampleset, scarbee CEP, and i'm set. i could live without the piano i guess. just battery, moog, and the rhodes. NI's guitar rig if you can't record your amp, although i haven't heard logic 9's new guitar stuff, but i don't hold out a lot of hope. the mixing fx are cool also, but i'd be limited without my 'coloured' EQ's and comps

I was assuming Logic because I assumed ticks was a Logic term, which is just totally wrong. Maybe I should start drinking coffee!

Thanks for your reply. I tried deleting both the preferences and the control surface preference. No change. The midi cable must be fine, because all the other controls work bidirectionally. The strange thing is that if I press flip I can alter levels with the rotaries and the faders follow! I just can't get the faders do do anything. Has anyone got an MCU running fine with Logic Pro 9.02, ...

First out of the gate is Native Instruments. http://www.native-instruments.com/en/su ... atibility/ Native Instruments has conducted initial compatibility tests with Mac OS X 10.6, which have shown all current NI products to work without any specific issues under standard installations of this operating system. They also have notes regarding 32bit kernel mode vs. 64bit kernel mode.

Can you post your patch? If you're using Max 5 you can select everything in your patch and choose "Copy Compressed" under 'Edit,' then paste that into your post here on the forum.

Theoretically yes. It might take a little longer to get results you'll want, but it's definitely possible. Logic (still) has the advantage that it's the best DAW "out of the box" on the market with regard to quality of the built-in plugins. They may not have as much "character" as some third party plugins, but they'll definitely get the job done.

Funny that! I found reading the screen hard a couple of years ago (nearing my 40's), I had an eye test and was dumbstruck that glasses were actually called for, but the ease on my eye, fantastic.... Or you could go System prefs.>Displays>resolutions ... and drop it down to something bigger!

You need to go to File > Project Settings > Assets and make sure that the 'Convert audio file sample rate when importing' option is checked in your template. Save the template again so it will keep the change.

I am having a problem monitoring audio out of the channels selected in preferences. ie I am recording input 3+4 of my FF800 and it will only output to 3+4 and not my selected monitoring path which is 1+2. I am also having the crunchy audio problem. (not using the Soundflower driver) Also of note, there is no option to alter the audio buffer size in the audio prefs anywhere. **Just to add... the ...
