There is a very good chance that you are seeing the effects of a hijackware infection! NB: If you had no anti-virus application installed or the subscription had expired *when the machine first got infected* and/or your subscription has since expired and/or the machine's not been kept fully-patched at Windows Update, don't waste your time with any of the below: Format & reinstall Windows. I have an HP MediaCenter 2005 computer running Windows XP. I was told that one of the Windows updates is conflicting with MediaCenter and causing problems. Hi All, I have a WS08 Terminal Server to test with. I decided to see how much disruption it would cause by changing the RDP port. So I went into "Remote App Deployment Settings", "Terminal Services" tab, "RDP Port" and changed it from 3389 to some other number. Problem: the remote testers are only getting in on 3389 "test Machine:3389" in mstsc. "test Machine ther_number" does not ...

Okay..i know i'm probably being media-washed but since I read the xkcd comic about year 2038 I did some pathetic research on google. Although the emphasis seem to be on Unix-based systems....it also mention non-Unix that use something like 32-bit to store time something something... Does this mean my XP SP3 will become unstable at that time?...Is there any way to fix it? Or am I just...

Aloha all. Many of my searches in IE get hijacked to places like "Coupon Mountain." etc. When I do a search, and click on a site, I'm sent to one of these engines instead of the site I wanted. If I go back to the search, then click on the wanted site again, I am then sent to the correct site, but many of my first clicks end up hijacked to one of these unwanted engines. I do weekely spy ...

I would like to say that this is a very unfair argument for Windows Vista! Microsoft spend thosands of hours producing the operating systems, of course there are going to be problems and things people don't like. Also you need to take into consideration that Microsoft write for a massive hardware base where all systems are different. Apple on the other hand build and produce their own ...

On a year old HP Pavilion/Vista I would like to remove Vista, format the disk and install w2k or XP. But HP support refused all the support in this respect saying they are not sure I will find all XP/w2k drivers for this machine. Has anybody here had difficulties finding XP/w2k drivers for relatively new machines, and for HP Pavilion in particular?
