Yup, I find that some USB devices definately increase the time for the BIOS to POST. But I dont think there is much you can do about it other than to tweak some BIOS settings. Or even worse, soemtimes they make resuming from hibernation unstable.

Three answers:
1) The short version is, sport1.write("0105") where "05" is the PID. Then parse the response.
2) The long, correct, version is,

The P4 cable doesn't supply power to the M2 ... it supplies power to the motherboard from the M2.

Well, I took a chance and hooked up the positive (in my case green ) wire to the ACPI wire on the P1900 and the black wire to the LCD ground. Nothing happened when flipping the valet switch on nor when the one minute shutdown happened. I was afraid there would be some problem.
Here's some more information: To reach between the laptop and the P1900 I cut up and spliced a USB extension ...

Do you have mac or windows. If mac you can use rowmote. Not sure if it's wifi or not but even if it is you can create a wifi network in osx.

If you use an M3, then you're using desktop hardware.
Desktop hardware doesn't have the means of utilizing battery power.
With your hardware, this isn't going to happen.

i have not layed any 'glass yet, but from the info that i have read, you are on the right track-- just make sure to roll out the foil so that it is as flat as possible.
