hi Dan, dont laugh, but I dont know how to drive a manual. I was going to purchase either Cooper S or S2K to learn. As the Honda does not come in an auto, I cant test it really, so to answer your question, I was only a passenger in the S2K and Cooper S (manual) but drove the Cooper S (auto)

No hardware under the bonnet for DSC , but its easy to tell if you have it. Look for the DSC switch near the shift lever.

JUst do search there are MANY threads on this very subject...
You can put non runflats on your car, the ride will be a little less harsh and the choice is greater so you can get cheaper tyres. But the choice is you and it won't affect anything greatly.

this seems to be a problem for a lot of people over all makes. It seems that generally the manufacturers are much more amenable to changing clutches under warranty for the original owner than they are if the car has been sold to a second owner. I can't explain why (well they don't want to pay) this is.

You can put non run flat tyres on standard wheels. I'm not sure whether you'll have to tell insurance though

I actually look forward to driving the cooper Sworks we have, more so than any other car I've had previously. Its that fun to drive.
With the exception of the odd satnav disk read error we've had no problems in the last 7 months of ownership.
They are great cars get one.

Sorry, the other two are 'chavmobiles' in my opinion.

The manufacturer has (legally I believe) to put thier postcode or name on the plate somewhere to show who made it. Some places put it on in a low vis colour so they are not that noticable.
I understand the desire to have a neat looking plate but spacing is spacing, whatever the reason for illegal spacing you are liable to be pulled over and can face a fine or lose your plate. It's not worth it!...
