Just dreaming....if the Angels could pry Cain away from the Giants in a less painful way then the rotation would be one of the best. Giants need a few things and Angels might have what they need. Angels have a surplus in some areas.

Angels interested in Jamey Carroll?

Yes, that doesn't make much sense. Not just the age, but the fact that he's no more than a utility man. What would be going on with the Angels when, at least at this point, the last thing they need to add to the roster is another utility man who "can" play second base? It sounds pretty strange.

I have an impossible time believing a drug user.. Schoenweis, who was against the players being tested for drugs did not know his wife was a cocain user. Who is taking the greater leap of faith, you or me? I don't know, but I'd bet on me. Not only is that a horrible environment to raise a child, but the child has to find the dead wife. Are you kidding me? You're worried about him? Torture him, linger with a child? I think you...

We don't develop elite players? Kendry Morales just outperformed Mark Teixeira in his first year as a starter. Put Morales in the new yankee stadium and Kendry would hit 40+ HR and bat .330. If that's not elite, I don't know what is. Also: 2008 Ervin Santana 16 wins 3.49 ERA 219 IP 214 K's 2008 Joe Saunders 17 wins 3.41 ERA 198 IP 103 K's John Lackey Jered Weaver Howie Kendrick his .360 from June on. He wins a batting...

I'll never understand this American obsession with people who have fame and money. America's ersatz royalty, I guess.

We'd get the 18th pick of the draft provided Seattle didn't sign another type A that was arbed. Article says 4-year for more then $30 million. I think we want Figgins back but only if its 2 or 3 years and NOT 4. We got a lot of guys coming up in the system with his offensive skill set (Pettit, Bourjos and Segura to name a few).

It's also rumored Lackey to Seattle. Neither will happen. Get use to seeing Lackey in a Red Sox uniform or even pinstripes if the Yanks pass on Halladay. Figgins to the White Sox.

mcbaby, here's a little somethin' somethin' for you to get used to. With all the NYY firepower including all the YES network billions and the maybe best team $$$ can buy, the Skanks still squeaked in. If some of those close games had tipped the Angels way, there'd be no you bouncing around on these boards now. I even doubt the likes of you would even show yourself on the NYY board with all of your fellow (and fella)...

No team has been very active until the arbitration filings were complete. It should pick up a little from here. I think many of the free agents will be disappointed in what the market brings this year.

That's GOOD stuff right there, LIUB!! What's truly surprising is how quick most people have been to defend Tiger, simply because of his popularity. And while his privacy and domestic life are really none of anyone's business, he pretty much forfeited that privacy the minute he won his first Masters at such a young age. The public will ALWAYS show curiousity when it comes to celebrities of ...

Why not just expand the rosters to about 800 players, and let the Yankees sign all the major leaguers? And make all of the other franchises Little League teams?

I'm a hard person. Schoenweis insulted the fans in 2002, was a union rep fought drug testing and took P.E.Ds. At the very least he's a hypocrite. And his wife dies of a drug overdose and I'm suppose to believe he's completely clean? He has this kind of drug use going on in his house with three children? I feel sorry for the children, not for him. There is nothing in this guys ...

The real question is Oliver. He made $6.665M last year. Will the Angels offer him arbitration? They haven't offered anyone arbitration yet (as of 3PM).

I agree with you. Hopefully Kaz will serve us well. Roy Halladay is a dream. Not a reality. If you could get him for cheap that would be great. But his price at his age is laughable. Let those who want to overpay do so. If we aquired him he would tie up way too much money. If he got hurt and/or his numbers drastically declined we would be doomed for years to come. I just dont see him ...

Same Yankee era really. I mean you're still buying World Championships so what's changed? Yeah the Yankees will probably win next year too because they'll pay Holliday 5 years 125 million like it's nothing, trade their shotty prospects and a but-load of money to the Jays for Halladay and sign him for 30 million a year. Then they'll pretend like a lot of hard work and dedication went into ...

Not that we'd have a repeat of 2009, but have you already forgotten how the Halos won with a partial rotation for the first few months?

If you had 4 seats they would be 10 dollars each. I have 4 seats in Lower View All-star and they were 11.50 in '08 and 11.50 in '09 and the actually went down to 11.00 for 2010, if I have less than 4 seats they would be 13.00 each, so for what I have , the price dropped 50 cents a ticket. Go Angels 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one in their right mind expected him to get offered arbitration. And no one in their right mind would expect Napoli to put up better numbers. And no one in their right mind would prefer a lineup that included Mathis behind the plate. There are a lot of people around who are not in their mind.

Lackey is gone and Halladay willl play in Boston or NY. If Arte is unwilling to spend the big money for the best FA's then that's the difference between winning the ALW not getting to the World Series again. We don't/wont have a true ace. This offseason is already too long.

Angels tied up a valuable roster spot for the next two years and blocks a young player. The outfield was old as it is but it got older with Abreu.

Reagins got some balls for sure. First move as GM was that O-Cab trade. That was done mostly to pave the way for Aybar. I think the unpopularity of this trade is one of the reasons Aybar got so much hate around here. Also, the comp picks we got for Teix were used to select Trout and Skaggs.

Angels won't offer arb to Oliver. He would win and be too costly for the little use he contributes. last yea Angels will let him go FA and sign him for a lower price than last year because nobody will make Oliver an offer. He is 40 years old and has no upside. Angels offered arb because it was thought he would refuse and a draft pick would be had. It didn't work out that way. Oliver ...
