I'm looking for a bit of help understanding the Two's Complement system... Anybody familiar with it? Specifically, the Wikipedia page says that the most positive four-bit number is 0111 (i.e. 7), and the most negative is 1000 (i.e. -8). What I can't understand about that is: * Surely the most positive four-bit number is 1000 (i.e. 8)? * And how does the computer ...

Whilst watching MOTD 2 last Sunday I couldn't help but notice that Lawrenson had yet another pop at a liverpool player. He was talking about the sublime game that Frank Lampard had for Chelsea on Sunday and stated that on the grounds of that match he should take the CM position for Englands international on Saturday. For 1, Lawrenson considering he was himself an ex red seems to ...

The interview before the England game on ITV was good. I'm delighted for him and he's a nice bloke too. Don't want to open a can of worms again, but there are comparisons between him and Kuyt - moved to the wing because of lack of goals, huge criticism from fans and the media. But Heskey is back on form now because of the faith of Bruce and Jewell playing him as a forward.

this thread is good but it has no depth.. you want to listen to Billy Butler's "Whaddevarrrappenedto?..." for a more serious investigation into these problems.

..ahead of England's game with Belarus. I wonder if they'll have recovered in time for the weekend??? While I'm not too arsed about following England it does piss me off when players do this. Capello won't say anything about it for fear of aggrevating the clubs. They should bring in some rule so a player who is declared unfit to play for his country cannot play for his club for 7 ...

The only thing that makes me think he could win it is that the players who do get the award have usually won an international trophy (if there was on that year of course). Like Cannavaro in 2006 (or was that a different award he won).

The venom that some seem to sing that song with just makes me laugh to be honest. 'IS NAME'S NOT FUCCCKKKIINNN KEANO!!! Phil Thompson wasn't christened 'Thommo' and Steve MacMahon wasn't given the name 'Macca' by deed poll. Who the fuck's arsed? Quite a few by the sounds of it, but I'm not sure why. Oh, because United used to call one of their players with the same surname ...

Fernando Torres is now Liverpool's highest foreign scorer in Premier League history after his City brace on Sunday. The in-form Spaniard leapfrogged Patrik Berger in taking his league tally to 29 and counting. If that wasn't impressive enough, Torres claimed the record in just 39 games compared with Berger's 148. (although Berger played Midfield) Liverpool's top ...

Things aren't looking up for Michael Owen. He's playing for a team that seems a right shambles: Newcastle. (And when I say team, I don't mean the players alone. The board and owner and everyone else at that club have contributed to their demise, even the supporters who seem to have very unreal expectations.) Anyhow, my point is that Owen's career has really gone downhill since he ...
