heartbreak

Its probably the biggest challenge any of us face in life, to get properly emotionally nailed and not put up walls because of it, not become bitter. Just try to remember its better to have loved and lost. For a while there you were really happy, now your really sad. Thats Character building stuff and its a lot better than taking the middle line and never really living. anyway I hope you feel better.

John stuart mill

John Stuart mill is quoted as saying "Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives." I have had troble finding out in what context was he saying this, because based on what I have read about him so far would have one think he is pretty conservative himself. Can anyone enlighten me, please? thanks

This tree's still standing - nearly always find time to have a quick look at the forum every day, but sometimes life intrudes and keeps me away from my computer for a while .
Seem to have run out of words lately ( oooh I can hear those sighs of relief !! )
Or maybe I'm getting mellow?
That can't be good, it will be calm uncaring senility soon, so maybe we need some mad ...

We all have ultimate freedom of choice to kill or not to kill. Sometimes the reason you would choose to do so is to protect others or in self defence. That could be argued as no choice, but if you carry a weapon against that eventuality, that in itself is a choice.
If you argue yourself into reasons to kill for gain or revenge or power then I guess you are your own enemy, because if you...

It's 0730 here, strong winds possible rain. Watching the trees out back dance in the wind is interesting. We need rain badly. My newly built hydroponic vegie garden is booming and I'm taking a sickie. It's a good morning leading into a better day. For me anyway. _________________ Fortunatus sum! I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.~John Stuart Mill, letter to the Conservative MP, Sir John Pakington (March, 1866)
