yes, i have places here i feel used to be inhabited, but now are a ghost, here in spirit. surely these places haunt still. i don't think we'll capture the oneness with nature again, but it would be a good aspiration. thanks for the poem.

It's a somewhat strange poem in an interesting way, delicate, as if you were holding the words in a forceps before setting them down, and the ending is both sad and strong.

don't answer the phone when he rings you? you can still be friendly when you see him, but you'll just happen not to be at home whenever he phones.

Hmmm since Thanksgiving is a US thing, I guess Black Friday is too.

It's the day after Thanksgiving and the biggest shopping day of the year. Most stores have special sales for that day only.
I've never been, and I don't plan on it. I hate crowds and I'm not that fond of shopping in general...so black friday seems like it'd be a ...

I'm no baby.
This also has an older tone - baby.
It is loaded images of mental illness and their causes- self harm, the shadows, sibling jealusy, an early awareness of sex, the translocation of the child's actions onto the monkey that tears her red dress.
These seem to lead to the murder of her...

Two Ideas:
1.) Have him respond to the ad and start talking over email / chatboard type thing... fall completely in love over the course of a couple weeks... set up a meeting... then it turns out that it's a guy.
2.) Go the more traditional route of having him meet with the admirer (a girl) and they begin to fall in love. After giving up on charlotte and committing to the new girl, ...

Quite an unexpected turn of events! Nearly till the end I expected it to be a boring story about high school love. I personally would like the story more without "BACKGROUND CHECK", which, I think, is an attempt to have some kind of a happy end/restoring justice. Without this last paragraph the story would be more mysterious: it could be that the girl is out to commit more crimes, or that perhaps...

It was long, long ago on a misty morning in a damp, cold building surrounded by sprawling neighborhoods growing at frightening speeds; three people sat near a table on which lay a silly-looking contraption that more or less resembled today's computer; with them was an idea.

You said extinction is natural,
one night in a crab shack, over
beers, where outside the dock lights
had lured the snook out from the Mangroves,
into the open shallow water.
Now the ice is melting
on the evening news.
We are told there is no doubt.
The eyes of the Bible are here, watching us
and it’s worse than they said ― there is film,
the Wordie ice shelf swallowed ...

bah, dont need dark ale to be really chilled - leave that to the beers for women (eg coors light, bud - well really any american wannabe beer)
however that is not a serious enough topic for disagreement. Pass another of those barely cooked steaks over this way & where's the rugby ball gone?
