Cron job issue - every hour...
Published (2009-11-19 16:14:00)
Can you restart the cron daemon and check the log after restarting. Put any relevant info here. I believe the cron log is in /var/log but might be different on CentOS. The only time I noticed this strange behavior is when someone manually edited a crontab file instead of with the crontab command. Kind regards, Eric

On debian I use dict-moby-thesaurus with dict and dictd. I think these are standard packages that should be available for CentOS (or from source). I don't know about mysql integration, but I guess you could hack it together. Evo2.

Octave actually has the install function to do it. octave:1> pkg install ann-1.0.2.tar.gz is correct. But the application ann-1.0.2 is too buggy for it to work.

You don't like sudo? I never had problems with it. However, I do prefer to
have a separate root account with a separate root password.

Hi
Please post more details of what exactly you want.
What exactly is the problem in connecting to internet,
and also what kind of network you are trying to connect to.

1st. You have to understand that Centos only supports the most current dot version of any release (support for 5.3 was dropped when 5.4 came out).
2nd. You are behind on your samba release. Current is:

Name : samba
Arch : x86_64
Version : 3.0.33
Release : 3.15.el5_4

You will have to check the ssh logs. Where they live, will depend on the system logger you use and/or the ssh configuration, but you can start looking in /var/log/ssh*. However, if the attacker truly scaled to root privileges, I doubt he left without "retouching" or erasing the log files to hide the attack.
The commands do not appear in the terminal (whatever you understand by "terminal"). Ssh...

Personally I think people should be payed for what they make. Gratis software is however Gratis, and you can't complain if people don't pay. They are free to make something else and release it under a different license.
Since I'm currently a student, and got a (relatively) strict budget, I currently isn't paying for any software. I will do when I get a full time job. The great thing about ...

This gets asked a lot
And I hate to say it, but there's not going to be a definitive answer! The truth is eventually you'll end up learning several languages anyway, and it's probably fair to say that once you know one language you can easily pick up others.
For what it's worth I would discount Ruby. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great language but it's lacking documentation (in ...

If "a white screen with an arrow" is a broken X display, then Ctrl-Alt-F1 will dump you into a terminal from where you can look at the contents of /var/log/ and give us a better idea of what state your system is in.
If it is so broken that you can't do that, you could always try booting with a live-CD (e.g. knoppix, or isn't the ubuntu install CD a live CD?) mount your main disk and have a ...

Hi Boler,
I understand your frustration, but Slackware is not just about Kde... :-)
It is way more than that...
You said something like " ..lhe last link between the applications, the OS, ( the DE ) and the end user sucks... " I totally agree with you, but then, why don't you short--circuit the faulty element...?
Do you really need Kde...?
I mean,... LXDE, FluxBox, WindowMaker, ...

I'd probably try to resolve the issues with the wireless on linux rather
than use ICS or equivalent. What distro are you running and is it current ?
