For what its worth, I've had a set of McQuay-Norris parts on my car a good 45k and ~4 years now without any problems. They weren't the highest priced parts available, in fact they were the cheapest things I could get at Pep Boys with a lifetime warranty, but they seem to be a quality part. Made in USA too. The Mark VII has Napa Premium chassis parts (Spicer/Dana), and I think both of the S10s have either Napa or TRW stuff. I...

Sucks man, but at least she's okay. I've seen those pics on the net of deer and elk sitting inside the car with the driver after they've gone through the windshield. Scary stuff. About the biggest thing to run in to out here are coyotes... animal and otherwise.

I would check your owner's manual (I assume you have one) for the spec and I'm sure you will find:
Use only power steering fluid that meets Ford's Specification ESW-M2C33-F, such as Ford Premium Power Steering Fluid, E6AZ-19582-AA or is an equivalent Type F Automatic Transmission Fluid with a Ford registration number (an 8-digit number beginning with "2P" printed on the fluid container)....

I havnt driven mine yet in snow, but I live in North Canada. My vii is the only car I have. So I have to drive it this winter even tho it has custom cameleon flame job paint. My plan is tobuy four winter studded tires and high quality cables for when I'm stuck. Also some sand bags. I already have winter floor mats that have spikes on the bottom that can be used for traction too in a pinch.

Well, after reading some more, I verified that the ABS light comes on at about 14MPH after starting
I pulled the 50 AMP fuse (just says ABS and nothing else), yet the car still has pulsating when braking.....
Have brand new pads on the rear (broke them in slowly) and pretty new pads in the front.
Any ideas?
I'm thinking of pulling the ABS pump wire next....not sure...

I dunno how much difference there is, but in my 98 Mark VIII, the speed shop is putting in 4.10s, trac-lok, poly bushings, and the rebuild kit that I already bought for around $500. For just putting in a new ring and pinion, I would guess less than that of course.

Are they rigid metal or plastic or are they flexible like vacuum hoses? They're not present on my car, so this must have been an early thing.

I think you are talking about the power steering fluid filter. Yes a power steering fluid filter. From what I remember trying to buy one is impossible as it only comes a part of the whole line assembly. The guys told me at autozone I was dumb and didn't know anything about cars because there is no such thing.

I myself have noticed that you must edit within 5 minutes of your original posting. After that, you must contact the system administrator...whoever that is.

Jack, my memory is fuzzy, but when you have the panel off, you will see the answer when you play with the lock mechanism and watch the rods. I think it is the opposite of the knob movement, i.e. as the door lock motor moves up and extends, the door locks.
What actuators are you using?

Long time no hear DS! I can't remember your first name!
Good to hear from you. We may be neighbors (well, valley neighbors) next year. I may be relocating to the NW valley.
Glad to hear you've been doing well, your name has come up from time to time since your absence. Hope you can chime in from time to time.
Maybe I'll see you auction week in January.

I'd drop pan and change the 4 odd qts. oil and filter. Note any metal. You may find plastic plug from assembly line- don't panic, toss it. May not need to change- cheap insurance, easy job.
