I learned over Thanksgiving dinner that my sister and her husband had "invested" in a Vegas sports book hedge fund. They weren't very clear about the details but claimed they had already seen returns of just under 10% a week since joining. A friend supposedly made 100% return on his investment in a month. Any chance this is anything but a scam? They claim they only invested money they could easily afford to lose- if they lose...

Christmas in Vegas

I spent last Christmas in Las Vegas. Not a whole lot of decorations but the Bellagio garden was well worth the visit. Also Encore will be 1-year old so they might have some special chips or other promos. Town was a little empty the few days before Christmas but really started filling up by the holiday and weekend. Merry Christmas!!!!

I never heard of a management person accepting a tip, but am not surprised. I do know Player Club people who do, as well as hosts, pit supervisors ("gifts"), etc. Hope you gave him the $100 bill you got back from the Secret Service.

The one time I had a handpay, almost $4,000, the person with "slot supervisor" on their badge would not take a tip but the other floor personnel did. I've never heard of higher level staff, like a manager, accept a tip. They make a salary as opposed to an hourly wage and much more than the other staff. Sounds pretty shady to me.

My guess is that if you have to go to the club to get a voucher, then they are recording it in their computer. You can always try a second time, the worse that can happen is they will politely refuse the second coupon.
