I was married to a man for 21 years. When I met him I was 29..thin and quite a cutie . ( lol) Had one son with him and my weight was an issue from the time of my pregnancy until he walked out of our marriage 21 years later. I just couldn't get down to my pre-pregnancy weight and the stress of his disapproval and his judging me made me turn to food all the more. Hi anicoler, I have Hypothyroidism, however I will always have it. I had to have my thyroid removed due to cancer back in November 2006. I gained over 80 pounds before I received my band. I hit 238 and I am only 5'2". I had struggled with weight since 1995 after my first child and then found out I had a thyroid problem all along from the pathology report from my thyroidectomy. My being banded has been the best gift I could have...

You are on the right track in regards to the counseling. However, don't just "try" it, you have to actively participate in it. I say this not only because of my marriage and family counseling background but also because I have been in individual counseling myself many years ago. ahhh!! so i JUST called occ and scheduled my surgery date!! i'm scared and excited and anxious...etc etc etc... my pre-op and surgery date is wednesday, november 4th....anyone else out there gonna be there? i wanted to get it done in early november for the reasons mentioned above....thanksgiving...christmas...new years.... feast time!!

I have slimed, but not from just drinking water. I am glad you were still at the office and able to get it taken care of quickly. Be careful the next couple of days. I also had a fill today and am kind of having clear liquids. It is egg drop soup that I made myself so the liquid is clear but I'm not sure the egg in it is legal, but boy am I enjoying it.

Shelby, I agree.... Great Visual... My nutritionist had things like that to show me what the loss is. Hers were only 1/2 pound and 1 pound chunks. It is amazing to see what 5 pounds really is. I left from Canada and only took one small carry on bag with me. Did not want to check any luggage. I did take my lap top and fit it right into my carryon. Don't forget that all liquids in containers cannot be over 90 mls. They also must be inside a clear zip lock bag.
