Can I Knit Plain Instead Of Pattern
Published (2009-11-25 10:27:00)
It will probably take a little less. I'm thinking the 'MK' stands for Make Knot where you knit sts together, then inc in the same sts, so that would use a little more yarn than just knitting those sts plain. It should turn out fine, but check your gauge as you get several sts into it to make sure the st number you cast on will fit you. You could start with a sleeve and do about 4-6" of that as a gauge swatch.

Hi Slim! Thanks for your kind words! No, the Alaska isn't for either of my daughters. Maureen doesn't ever wear red, and Lauralee rarely wears red! This one is for MOI!

You may have forgot the YOs and if you did, just pick up the yarn between the sts where they should be and knit into them on the next round. You can look at the round you just did and name the sts from the beginning of it to see where you might have left them out, then mark the spots with a safety pin or paper clip. It's not that hard to take out your knitting (though I don't think you'll have to...

I suspect you're knitting it inside out. Are you knitting on the inside of the circle of knitting? While it's not a huge deal most of the time it's generally considered correct to knit on the outside of the circle. Depending on what you're making you can probably just finish it and then turn it inside out.

I don't have any in my stash (amazing) but Wool Trends on the web has some listed for $4.99 in the color you listed, it appears to be a Canadian company also. Good Luck.

The increase should probably be a m1 or pfb, the YO in this pattern is to
make holes for the lace and they're offset by the decreases. I think it
should be a pfb since you inc by 9 st so the pattern is repeated 9 times.
There are 10 sts not repeated at the beginning and end, so the pat rpt is
over 153 sts and dividing that by 9 is 17 so that's how many sts each
repeat uses. There are 16 sts in - ...

Unfortunately sharing patterns is a copyright violation and we can't allow that here.

How do I start sleeve on a baby dress
I am a beginner. This is my fist knitting project ever. The pattern book I am suing is Leisure Arts Special baby Outfits. I am making lil angel. I am to the sleeve and I am not sure how to start. I am not sure how I pick up the stiches. I kknow how to do it. But not sure where to start. Do I start with the front or ...

Looks fine to me, I think it's your perspective since it's so close to you
as you knit it. Hang it on something and back away about 5- 10 feet; see how
it looks then.

Stupid Question
Although one of my teachers used to always say that 'no question is stupid if you don't know the answer', I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question:
I know how to knit a YO. Heck, I've done it mistakenly a dozen times.
But, when a pattern specifically calls for one, do you knit the stitch? Or is just the act of bringing the...

So, I'm still very much a beginner to knitting, but I've been knitting some hats and scarves that I give away at this soup kitchen where I volunteer.
Before I give these away, I thought I'd take some pictures of them first.
A lot of the decorative elements were done with the help of this website.

I just started knitting yesterday, or at least tried to. I was able to do the knitted cast on but then when I went to do knit and purl stitches I would mess up somewhere and end up with way more stitches. I didn't know how to fix it/tink so I kept just taking the whole thing off and redoing it over and over again...

I don't get those instructions either.
But 2 stitch dictionaries I have, explain this step for that stitch as follows.
Row 6: p8, *insert right needle from bottom to top under slipped strands on RS;
and lift up onto left needle. Insert point of right needle under 3 strands and purl them along with the next stitch on left needle to make butterly effect.
p9; rep from *, end last rep ...
