Legally? Some states require them, some states don't, and some states require them only if the bike came with them originally. Personally? For a street bike, I would not ride one without them. For a show bike/trailer queen? I think it looks cleaner without them.

If anyone needs any I listed mine on eBay today. I thought I would keep them just in case, but I really like the narrowed Classic bars I put on mine. I was listing a bunch of old toys and thought "what the heck", I listed the drag bars, mirrors and tank badges at a starting bid of .99 cents. So now I'm sure that I will need all of them later on, that's my luck.
