TJ Body Un-Lift (or lift...
Published (2009-11-13 22:24:00)
There are 11 body mounts on a TJ. 1 front in the grille. 3 each side in the middle under the door. 2 over the rear axle next to the upper shock mounts. And 2 outboard in the rear crossmember. The 6 middle body mounts should be 1/2-13. The back 4 should be 5/16. The single front I can't remember. Find the socket sizes that would fit the bolt heads. Loose the bolt you want to remove (if you are driving your Jeep to the store for the bolts)....

hey, Jeff. i put the nut back on @ 2/3 the depth of the internal threads then gave it a hearty "BUMP" with a hammer. if you have the whole bracket off the door, turn it upside down and soak the stud with some wd or pb blaster or what have you. if it's still on the door, you might want to use some cardboard to protect your paint from the hammer.

Stay AWAY from the Truxus. I have these on my Cherokee now and I hate these tires. They do not balance worth a crap and shake like crazy. I personally can't wait till I wear these things out to give me a reason to get rid of them........................sorry for yelling.

Jeff
I can't remember the exact # but was thinking 12 or 13. Don't forget the one(s) towards the center of the frame at the rear just to the front of the gas tank.
I hope that makes sense.
I was underneath mine the other night and didn't realize they were there. _________________ 98 TJ

Not sure what sounds your hearing
But any D35 with 33s needs to be inspected regularly
My YJ has a D35, locked, with 31s,
I figure it's when not if it breaks _________________ David

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just buy a regular bed for it and sell the B&W bed?

Not sure about the box, I would guess that it is a possibility. My dw cure , after replacing one rod end that was bad, was to adjust the toe in. I think that I tweaked the tie rod on the trails and never thought about it until I read an article that suggested putting a tape measure to it. It won't cost you anything so worth a look.
Good luck.

Is there any place in town, or a sponsor that sells a 1/2 ton or 1 ton latches? 1000lb -2000lb
I know that I want two attachment points in different planes to keep the tire carrier from wiggling back and forth. BUT I don't know if I want to use two latches or one latch and a T handle -spacer and nut on the far side of a bracket?
I am still trying to figure out how I want to ...
