oooh you poor, did the doctors give you any medication??? Maybe it would be better if you call A&E and asked them about your situation if you are scared and worries. I think if you will have hemorrhage still - just go to A&E so they send you to the hospital and check you again. I hope you feel better soon. lots of hugs and love Gosia xxx

Confused... (lletz results)

I find that incredible. I've just had a 6 month follow up colposcopy and smear. Colposcopy and biopsies showed VAIN 3 for which I'm having surgery in a couple of weeks. However, the smear was only borderline. Had I only had a smear, they wouldn't have done anything, just monitored it because the result was borderline. They should apply the same standards across the country. Z xx

Hi Tina, I may not be able to answer all your questions fully but I'm sure someone will be along soon that can help more, your coil can be left in at colposcopy as they they are taking biopsy's from your cervix and the strings from your coil do not get in the way, however if you require any treatment such as lletz (some hospitals have a see and treat), there may be an issue with your coil as some doctors prefare tp take it out, some...

But a second cone biopsy often discovers more progessed cancer cells missed by the first, so it's really worth having if the indications are that way. Hi Pandaface, Re the above, can you let me know whether you remember the journal that this was in because I am having my second cone on Monday due to them finding 3 areas of microinvasive cancer (unexpected) without clear margins for CIN3. My gynae onco has told me that although...

Hi Sandy I have to meet the consultant on Tuesday to discuss treatment ( by this I think he means the LA/GA thing) I suppose he'll try to get me to have it under LA, he's wasting his time though ! At least I can ask him some questions, I have a list as long as my arm! Keep after them about results , hopefully you'll have some answers soon Paula xx

I hope you get into see a doctor who specializes in these issues and get things resolved soon. I don't know if this will help ease your fears or not, but there is no hereditary link with cervical cancer.

Oh honey, I am so sorry you are still going through it and still bleeding, you must be so tired of it all now. I would try to push to see someone sooner than March as that seems like such a long way away still and you can't keep bleeding till then. Sending you lots of love and hugs and hope you start to feel better soon. xxxxxxxxx

Hi Wendy, I've been through exactly the same as you so know how worrying this can be. The colposcopy proceedure is fine - it's just a way of looking more closely at your cervix. OK nobody wants to have a stranger that up close and personal, but I promise you that it sounds far worse than it actually is. If you're that way inclined you can usually even watch the colposcopy on camera so there are ...

Hi Sarah, I know how you feel because i do that to myself all the time!! Then, i start driving myself crazy about every possible outcome! If you have an anxious night, If i were you i would book an appt to see your GP tmrw and that way, if they haven't dealt with your results beforehand, they can deal with them while you're at the surgery. Now i understand the saying 'patience is a virtue' lol xx

I've been taking them since I got my CIN3 result. Had a clear 6 month follow up but there was still evidence of HPV on my cervix. 12 month follow up due next week! Even if it's clear though, that applies to 95 per cent of women who have the LLETZ anyway, so I'll never know if it was the supplements or not . It just makes me feel better to think I'm taking something that might help, lol. I ...

Hi mouse.. welcome! Sorry I can't offer you any advice.. I have just joined the 'Lletz club' after treatment last month, so I'm not sure about the facts concerning risks during pregnancy after more than one procedure. I just wanted to say 'welcome' and I'm sure someone will be along to answer your questions soon. It can be a little quiet over the weekend, so hang in there! In the meantime, ...

Emma, I'm not sure the info you have been given is wholly accurate.. Clear margins can only be given after a biopsy, so you cannot be told you have 'clear margins' simply from the colposopy you are due to have in 6 months. The lab will have examined the sample of tissue removed during biopsy/Lletz and determine whether the area around the abnormality is free from abnormal cells, hence the ...

Hi hun, I too had LLETZ under GA, I went for colposcopy on the friday, they couldn't do the treatment as mine too was too large an area, so he booked me in for the next day he was working which was the monday, went in as a day patient, all done quickly and I was allowed home a couple of hours after waking up, felt fine apart from some stomach ache, hope all goes well tomorrow, if you have any ...

Sandy.. I'm sorry I don't really know the answers to your questions but just wanted to say that you're not a pest and if you have questions, I'm sure no-one minds you asking them on here! I've posted repeatedly over the last few weeks (as I'm sure many people are painfully aware ) as I'm waiting for Lletz results and going slowly (more!) insane as each day passes. This is a lesson in ...

Hi Steph, Congratulations, the worrying is horrific isn't it! I am wondering if you can help me. I had a severly abnormal smear test about 6 weeks ago. I then had colposcopy, the dr said small area of abbnormal cells but said they would remove them. They did LLETZ there and then. They did not send biopsy. Pathology report said that it was confirmed CIN3, small area (possibly due to my age 26)...

To be honest I'm not really sure what to say but it does seem odd. I have a tendency to faint after surgery because my blood pressure drops very low (normally it's on the lower side of normal). I don't think having a fit is anything to do with the colcoscopy - I suggest you mention it to your GP though. Z

Hi Sophie, Just thought I'd send a quick reply to your post - I don't often post on here but do try to respond to questions about hg-CGIN. I was found to have high-grade CGIN last December and had a loop biopsy but because of postive margins I had a second cone biopsy where they removed a lot of my cervix. I have since had my first follow-up smear which after a couple of inadequate attempts ...
