I hope they make a movie for this too. I have watched Bowling for Columbine, and although it gives insight into the scenario of the novel, it does not give a visual representation of it. I would LOVE to see this be made into a movie, so that it can be watched for educational reasons......maybe then bullying will stop!

The Point of the Ending
Published (2009-11-27 18:18:23)
At first I was highly disappointed with the ending. I've read all of Jodi's books and this was my last one to read. I think the anticipation of the ending was even greater since this was my last book. I was so confused by the ending at first. It seemed to me that it was thrown in there without thought. Then I started reading the messages on this message board about being disappointed and this one, the point of the ending. I'm so...

It also mentions at the end the pregnancy was a surprise. Personally I love Patrick-and felt he needed to move on after Perfect Match and Nina. Although they are obviously still connected (the begining of the book mentions he is the father of her girl tara and if you count tara is probably biologically Patricks) at least he is making a new start. One can not just forget a child and move on.

Yes I definitely think the letters were written by Cam. It is mentioned that "I" wanted to be a travel writer

Young Adult Author Study
Published (2009-12-02 04:07:42)
I am currently taking a Young Adult Lit course for my masters degree. We have been asked to write a research paper on a young adult author. Of course, I choose one of my favorites, Jodi Picoult! Besides Nineteen MInutes, Plain Truth, My Sister's Keeper, and The Pact, what other books by Jodi would you recommend to a young adult (middle school/high school aged) audience?

The Miracles

I thought that the wine part was explained in the beginning when Michael asked some student about the pipes or something.. And the student mentioned about the rye from the grass that might seep into the pipe, giving the water in I-tier the alcoholic content...

This is an interesting love story, and I did get into it fairly quickly. But you have to be a Jodi fan to truly say that this is an amazing book, because to be
perfectly honest, it wouldn't be on the top of my recommendation list, unless the person grew up without a mother or has a husband that is unappreciative
and self-absorbed (like Nicholas). With that said, in my opinion, it was beautifully ...

I agree totally. The book has been totally butchered beyond recognition. I was especially disappointed with the ending.

I think your reaction is a little harsh, any book that brings out such strong feelings in someone has to be
worth something, right? Maybe after you let some time go by, you'll realize that Jodi is not saying Willow should never have been born, she is just
portraying a fictional example of one family's struggle with a child's disability. They obviously loved Willow very much and the idea that ...

I think Shay was a healer, but the miracles weren't really explained and were therefore, imo, unnecessary. It was also confusing that it was apparent that
he had read the Gnostic Gospels from newspaper cuttings, which implied that there was nothing mystical about him, and yet the wine in the pipes, was never
explained.
I wasn't disappointed but the ending was somewhat confusing and ...

I would love to see it as a movie too-but hope they wouldn't ruin it as they did My Sister's Keeper

Peter was most definitely my favorite. My heart bleeds for Peter. But that's not why he's my fav. I like him because he's so sweet, and geeky, and
sensitive and all that amazing stuff that matters to people later in life, but he just had the misfortune of growing up in a community that did not value his
personality type. If he was real, and went to my school, he'd probably be one of my best ...

She's just getting on with life with her new partner, From what I could tell, Alex's relationship with Josie was better than ever because she became a
supportive mother. It does say at the end that she visits Joise very regularly.
