Translating the Modes to More...

Most so-called "modes" are really just tonal pitch collections. Dm7 in the key of C is not "Dorian," it's just a Dm7 chord with a C major pitch collection. For a truly modal tune (if we accept one as such; I'm not so sure, since as soon as we have harmony we have the opposite of modality), such as So What, it suffices to know how to play that tune in the Dorian mode — which is really just...

Murcof (le) Poisson Rouge October 14, 2009 Murcof, whose real name is Fernando Corona, hails from Tijuana. His distinctive form of minimalist electronica lately seems to be moving closer towards classical music, and simultaneously becoming even more skeletal in nature. He's been active for nearly a decade, and has evolved from a minimal house pulsation towards collaborative works with massed strings and operatically-trained voices,...

The F#m there is indeed a vim of A major.
The tune begins with a circular sequence which implies gravitating towards an F major tonic,
but then surprisingly substitutes the tritone of the F major chord:
AØ - D7b9 - Gm7 - C7 - Bmaj7
III - VI - II - V - Isub
(The B chord's root serves a leading tone function to the following CØ)
This is followed by a quick ii-V-I in the key ...

While being a member of JBGI, I have to disagree with chord-scales being "wrong". Chord-scales have to be internalized. It's how all of the notes of a parant scale relate to the chord. It's good information to know and to woodshed.
The problem I think is that people do not have a sound in their head when improvising, but rather having thoughts like.. chord is x Min7.. I can play.. Locrian, ...

The problem's not so much when they clean the streets but more the respect
the French (Parisians in particular) have for animals and hygiene. I'm from
the UK where things are a little too far the other way with people
absolutely animal-crazy but here in France things are pretty lax.
As for sounds, French for 'woof' is 'woah', so yes, I suppose they must
bark avec un petit accent!!

I have found that most teachings of "Modes", especially in the world of guitar, is nothing but Diatonic Theory, and scale-to-name memorization techniques, and really not too much about Modes from the perspective of "Modal Music", or Modal Application in Music.
My suggestion is...
You will eventually memorize the fingerings and will continue to work on that the rest of your life, but you ...

I think it sounds really good! There is something I wanted to say about keeping time though, I don't know if its just me, or if you intended for this, but whatever amount of swing you had from about minute one to two wasn't very constant... If you were going for something like this, than cool, but I don't know if varying how much swing you put on it will help it too much. Good job!

I'm loving life. I have every instrument and machine and comfort I need and I'm my own master, not needing to work for anyone else. But what makes my day everyday is the love my girlfriend shows me. I try to show and deliver my love for her and she tells me I succeed. She makes my every day. Over and over.
It may not seem "cool" or manly but love is the most important thing in life for me...

I would have severe doubts as to the legality of such a service.
Transcribing of copyright material does not allow you to distribute, display or sell the transcribed material. You are only allowed "own use" which does not include public performance. You cannot perform the service for other people
