Space shuttle going by?
Published (2009-11-26 22:01:00)
Saw the space station as it flew across the sky last year and I've seen the shuttle several times. Not tonight, however. On a different note, met my neighbor's dad last week. He's from Waldron Island. Said he endured a two hour boat ride to Friday Harbor in rough seas then flew out from there. Didn't ask about his occupation but he looks like he can hold his own in the wild, and he did fry up a couple of local squirrels for...

Connoisseur Craig, not technically beer, but very interesting. Not too different from a traditional mead as far as ingredients: Honey, yeast, and water. And usually meads are 9%+ ABV, so you're right there. When you're making drinks with higher ABV, it pays to age them longer so let some of that go for a while more and see how it is then. I, unfortunately, am spoiled rotten on great beers. Tasting one tonight (I did not make this...

The lorry driver was only acclimatizing the load for residential use. From what I remember having anything dry in a house would have had adverse affects on the whole structure;)

They have this offer every year, Lowes has a similar offer for their vac. It's only one size vac that is $19 and change, I assume you mean to say this but the wording is unclear. They also have their customary holiday ladder offer, etc. But the only good price is the small dewalt table saw. The one good thing this time of year to do is stock up on some screw bit sets, etc. there are some ...

Mike: first off you have to establish a base price, Since your doing primarly small jobs I would start out at about a buck fifty + depending on the job. I would add to this a set running ft price for reg.CB, 3/4rnd 1 1/2 rnd. and add ontop of all of this setup /... masking material and prep . Just something that needs time to go over and figure out correctly what to charge.
The items I ...

Not at mine. I've been putting off that purchase for months, finally decided to get off my butt an hour or so ago, and it's still for the regular $399 at my local HD. An employee was no help and the crowds kept me from customer service desk.
HD put on a poor showing for tools this year. There was absolutely nothing I felt I wanted. The drill bits even seemed regular price. Little stubby ...

Yeah, I've been using it for awhile.
It is quite awesome, with one huge downside. The downside being that Wave's potential is mostly untapped until it becomes as ubiquitous as email. That may happen, since Google wants to replace email, but it'll take awhile before the critical mass is hit that will make Wave really useful.

Moisture may be coming from inside the house, in which case more/better insulation, a better VB, fewer penetrations in the drywall ceiling (got can lights?), less air communication between wall and roof framing assemblies, could all possibly help. The insulation should be held away from the sheathing with baffles so that there's a continuous air channel and venting is more likely to occur. Do ...

Hmm. Seems like the builder made a poor choice of trying to build if he couldn't finance it himself- a spec is still a spec, even if it's going to be a model home for a show. Unless that show is financing it... Which is another thing that strikes me as, well, not really funny, but amusing in a very dry sort of way.
I think the " virtual tour" is a bad plan. Personally, from a trade perspective,...

Droid is gonna be HUGE - and don't worry about the Outlook sync... it might take a few months but you're going to have all the Microsoft syncing you ever wanted and more as the phone gets traction in the marketplace. There will be as many third-party apps for the Android OS as there are now for the iPhone, maybe more. Remember Apple got a couple year's head start. Now there's 10,000 apps for ...

I cant speak to Bill's method, but coming from a painters perspective, I can tell you that no one in the process likes to see that something was caulked in. So, the art of it is to do it without it looking as if it was done. Its more a skill thing than a tool thing. The method that we use for interior trim starts right at the tube. Cut the proper size hole in the end of the tube. Spread ...

Does it matter? Why one over the other?
I use the black Stanley speed square with yellow writing on it for two reasons:
1) it's much lighter than the Swanson
2) I can actually read the numbers without trying really hard
Mine has been used to guide drill holes at 1" and 3" far too many times and it sounds like "zip, tink, zip, tink, zip, tink, zip" when I use the edge to mark a ...
