HID Upgrade(Need New Ones)
Published (2009-11-14 00:46:00)
It is not really an upgrade. It is just a different color output(with a different teperature) 4300 is closest to sunlight so it gives the best sight in the dark. So why not going for the best nightvision?

Get a voltmeter, I assume you have that, and with everything off, measure the voltage of the battery. It should read at least 12.3 volts. If it reads 12 volts it's dead If you know how, you can also measure amperage which will give you further insight into the state of your electric components. With the vehicle idling, read the voltage, it should read 13.5 + If it doesn't you have a have a faulty battery, &/or : faulty...

Like Yeti said, narrower tires are better in the snow than wider tires, because they cut through and provide greater traction. If you get wider tires, one may think that the greater surface contact = more traction, but they are mistaken. It just means that you will slide on top of the snow (well not really on top, but sort of). 19" rims are pretty much only for looks/performance ON ROAD ONLY. They serve NO function greater than the...

There are only 3 dealers that still have them in The US Burnsville is using them for used cars... The one in WA was using them for local customers... and there is a dealership in PA that says their set was bought before the close out so they still want $250 a piece for them but there are still several dealers that are not on the Parts on command System so it may be best to call those near you to see if they have any I spoke to VW this morning...

Hi all... Seems like there have been a couple of threads started, but no one has gone through with it.
Today i have purchased the North America Map 10- CD Set Version 6B
for the 2004 Touareg, which should arrive by the end of this week. I am keeping the California/Nevada Disc #1 for myself, and I'm selling all of the other 9 discs for $33 each. This includes the shipping and tax for my ...

The only problem I've encountered with my 08 was when I installed the steps AND mud flaps. Since they can't co-exist, I cut off 1.5 inches of the steps and they now coexist fine. The flaps if I remember are 04 through 08 or even 09 though not sure about the latter. So they should fit, though you can always check before ordering.
I ordered mine through Auburn VW (1-888 ) 528-5280 and part ...

Dude... just buy a new 2008 V10 if you are going to be that picky... there are still a few available. With that list of requirements I am guessing price is no object.. so just shell out the US$60K and get a new one with 5 miles on it. Otherwise... good luck! My 08 only had 14K miles on it but it was the color (int and ext) i wanted with the options i wanted... so i JUMPED on it. Was the car ...

The V10 TDI Touareg is a special vehicle with torque that far exceeds what the current 3.0 diesel puts out. Keep in mind that the V10s all were extremely expensive to begin with. Our '07 had an MSRP of $68k and we paid ~60k for it. I bought it to tow my track car and it has done this better than I ever imagined it could.
Not many V10s were sold - I'd casually estimate they were only 10% of ...

It is a Consumer Reports article, who cares. They are highly Toyota and Honda biased. They are still including the 04 in their ratings and that just takes it down. They have gotten a lot better since that year and continue to do so. My 04 has been very good to me and has no caused me any issues other then normal maintenance.

Thanks Turtle. I've seen that VW did away with the V8. Does a TDI V6 make a standard (gasoline) V8 redundant in terms of power? Or do you think the standard V8 would have gone away anyways due to the current eco/political environment? I'm going to start shopping a new car soon and I've got somewhat of a V8 bias, so I'm trying to understand this stuff.

What worked for me was to point the remote at the "home link" buttons with the remote pressed against the windshield. I think that the transmitter is on the glass side of the "home link" housing. That made it work for me first time. Of course I learned this after about an hour of trying the way the manual says.

1. It feels heavy because it IS heavy...it weight 5500bs, which is what your typical full size pickup truck weighs. The RDX and CX-7 are car based lightweight "wagons"...
2. 20" wheels and tires do make it handle better on road.

How do you like the BFG's? I am thinking about going that route with my new 18" wheels. How do they handle on normal dry roads?

No kidding! I was just at a local dealer test driving a 'comfort suspension' model. When the guy told me that air was back, I almost fell off my chair, and had to see a copy myself before believing it.
I asked them to check on whether LRD was in the pipeline too. A double-check of the guide shows it's still not there. Will let you know what I hear. Either way, though, I'd have them punch in ...

Can't speak to snow tires, however I can tell you that you have limited selection in terms of 19" tires. Additionally, the 19" tires that I have used are expensive and don't wear very well, most are high performance tires that the Touareg just loves to eat up quickly. If you go to the running gear forum you will see a lot of discussion.

Yes they are still around, but RJ's is just still mainly a poser Treg. So he needs none of your products.
Is your skid plate a total bolt on or do you need to weld some stuff before it is mounted? I know Chris mentioned about welding and I did not know if you came up with something different since then.
