The Baby Market
Published (2009-12-30 12:33:00)
I thought this was an interesting topic. (We've discussed, awhile back,?the ethics of Westerners using Indian women as surrogates.) The Times recently published an article on the ethical and legal issues surrounding the use of surrogates in reproduction, which become even more complicated when the parents are essentially contractors who find egg donors, sperm donors and pregnancy surrogates to carry the baby. As surrogacy becomes more...

I am sorry that I took your thread off course. I really did not think that discussing the reality show craze, and the different things that people have done to try to get their own, was that far off the mark. I have only voiced my opinion, while fully admitting that I don't know everything about these stories. I don't understand why you should be upset about what I have said. I have not said anything sarcastic or rude to you. If you...

War crisis in September
Published (2009-12-24 17:36:00)
585. A super 911 to justify Iran war (1/30/09) To justify the Iraq war, the Inside Group activated a false flag terror attack in US: that's 911. To justify the coming Iran war, another false flag terror attack is inevitable. That terror attack, likely will be a nuclear bombing. The shock and awe would shake Americans' brain and push them to support another war just like what 911 had done to Americans. From 2007 to 2008, there were...

I wish the dad would have thought of another way to bring media hype to his work. Maybe doing something truly brilliant would have worked. It's a terrible thing to involve children in deception. I hope that besides time spent in jail, he gets a new outlook on life.? I hope some new thinking occurs. The dad and family may need some good counseling to move on. ? ?

I don't know what more could be done to stop an attack on a plane. But then I don't go looking for a terrorist around every corner. Do I think we've been very lucky? Yes. Heard something a few months back about how many attacks are thwarted every single day. It was mind boggling. I refuse to give into them. I'm not going to live my life any differently. I won't give them that power. I do think that using dogs at...

That's a frightening scenario. There are certainly people that shouldn't own any sort of firearm.
I've twice lost my temper, with justification, when I've actually seen red. If I had possessed a gun I might have used it on someone. Instead I used the stiletto heel of my shoe & the other time an iron which only grazed the 'object' of my anger. BTW it's been decades since I've lost it.

When I saw this, I said to my partner, could you ever imagine one of our politicians spending the night, in the streets and the cold, to get an idea of what it is like for the people who live that way, every day? What about even shutting off the heater in their house for a night?

Some people are very legalistic. They see Santa as a threat. Xmas is a religious holiday plus a celebration that give the people a chance to have fun and frolic. It's a good way to give people and children a lesson in giving.
As long as we know the reason why we celebrate Xmas is because of the birth of Jesus, I don't see why anyone would get mad at Santa.

You wrote a very nice tribute. I cried when I heard that Brittany had died, too. I had watched her career and been very impressed with her talent. My tears were mostly for her mother, though. I know how she feels because, last July, I had to bury my oldest child, Stephen, who died of an accidental drug overdose, at the age of 26. I felt even worse for Brittany's mother, however, when I ...
