Ah, I had not made the connection that this was a marriage-based PR application. Had the GC been based on other-than-marriage, then his PR date would have precedence, and the marriage date itself would not have mattered. Unusual, but that was my assumption. You cannot work for another employer without a H1 sponsorship. If you wish to work for another employer you will need that employer to file H1 for you.

Ask in the Family-Based Green Cards section. This section "The Physical Green Card" is for those whose green cards have already been approved, but they have a problem with the card like a misspelled last name or the card got lost and needs to be replaced or they got the approval notice but are still waiting for the physical card.

I plan to bring file GC for my mom since I am US citizen. I filed for her I-130 which got approved.
