I totally want this too and asked for the same thing a few months back. My setup is similar to yours, glynor. I have a big server. However, we definitely don't have ONE television. With my new round of HTPC systems, I can turn them on/off all from an IR remote. So we have begun shutting them down to decrease power usage. If any client wants to record a show, it would queue it up with...

Published (2009-11-13 16:35:00)
I've got 100's of Blu-ray / HD-DVD disc (many of which are infrequently viewed) and due to the number it's getting harder to organise, know what you have etc (and at up to 50GB ea they are not all worth the expense of putting them all onto the server)......so Just an idea.....Has anyone had a go at integrated these sort of Disk Stacker units into MC's Theater View? What I'm thinking is...

PvdImport Test log III
Published (2009-11-12 04:44:00)
Quote from: rick.ca on Yesterday at 03:07:39 pm After installing 1.1.13, MC reported "Interface plug-in 'PvdImport' could not be found or created" on startup. I didn't check closely, but I don't think all the DLL's were installed. "Fixing" the installation didn't change anything. I had to uninstall, reinstall and replace the configuration file from...

Quote from: glynor on November 12, 2009, 04:03:18 pm Except for ONE thing. MC won't auto-tag my recordings as they're made. Glynor, I too run a TV server using a FREE product called TV Sechedler Pro ( http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/tvschedulerpro/index.php?title=Main_Page ). It is a fantastic PVR (for free-to-air DVB-T signals only though) with it's own web server so you can schedule...

I know, I named the different options in my post. That when you delete files from the library, it doesn't fully delete them, it only hides the file(s). Yes, but it does so, even though I uncheck the box. I have to remove a file from the library AND disk, then restore the file and import it again, if I want it to show up again.

A very (very) early feedback: it is working like a charm ! I was afraid of the "alpha" state of your plugin, but so far, not a single problem encountered. Moreover I have tested it on a Vista 64bit which is probably the worst testing environment. Very impressive I have to say. I will try it soon on my pda. Only a few features missing for it to be a replacement of the default ...

Something like auto tagging all files imported from somewhere under V:\TV as [Media Sub Type]="TV Show"? If so, I'd love something like that. Would be nice if auto-filling some tags was configurable per auto-import folder. -John

glynor, You're going to have to try it to get a good feel for MC's TV now, but here are some quick answers. 1. Those cards should work. 2. External control -- a Media Center Remote can be taught to send commands to an IR blaster. It would take a little time to program. 3. You can watch recorded TV from one PC on another PC. If you needed live TV, I'd add a simple USB TV stick in...

There have been numerous changes in TV. It is difficult to pin-point a version. You can search the change history and see if there are anythings that are obvious. Another thing to do is to test various versions, using binary search, starting with the first and the last MC14 versions, and then the middle.

Looks very interesting - I'm not an admin, but I'm sure no-one would object to you posting the code. Many of us are using Personal Video Database or My Movies to maintain a database and then syncing with MC. I'd be keen to try out your coverart downloader.

Well, I'm kind of excited and kind of scared about this one - but here goes... For the past few months I've been working on a full featured interface plug-in for Media Center which will allow remote control over HTTP - including a companion website to enable use out of the box. It is now at a stage where it's ready for some BETA testing amongst the savvy Media Center users out there....

Quote from: benn600 on Today at 07:35:23 am What do other people experience as their channel change time? With or without time-shifting enabled? I see about a 3 second delay with time-shifting enabled and am curious if other people notice the same delay. Yep, 2 or 3 seconds with TS enabled and about 1 second (or less) without. I think that's pretty normal using modern hardware...

it looks really good. finds all the movies, and the refine function is a huge help. i also like it that one can set his own search. i do get unhandled exceptions when clicking on 'set folder' and 'write info'. this could be very well due to the fact that i tested it on my test machine, that has no movies online and they dont have there own folder. im curious, the poster and or the ...

Hi Richard, I too was pondering this for some time but as they both have laptops I decided to just use those over another HW Device. Till the bugs with Library Server gets sorted out, I just put my main MC Library on a network share and have their copy of MC just use this library. Thanks Nathan
