QUOTE(Eric5h5 @ December 2nd 2009, 09:58 AM) OS X does virtualize VRAM in general, not limited to Quartz Extreme. However, swapping stuff in and out of VRAM if you run out is going to lag (but at least you can keep going). Okay, okay I stand corrected. But as you said: the performance hit will be severe.

QUOTE(SonicMac @ November 27th 2009, 10:08 PM) Thanks for replying, Sneaky Snake. This may sound dumb but the gaming I have done has strictly been against the computer. I don't even play on the internet. Don't worry, its not dumb. I spent a lot of my years never touching online play. I'm not to familiar with RoN cuz I haven't played it since I sold it a year or so ago, but when you click the multiplayer...

QUOTE(ol3ksandr @ November 27th 2009, 05:52 AM) I can see it already. 1st thing that would happen would be a "Im a mac and Im a pc" ad talking about why macs are better for gaming. Ha! That would be funny... and they'd still buy it.

Thanks for info on Titan's quest and on Steam's deal. I don't get my Mac until Monday and won't have Windows XP (or 7) until I can find a cheap enough price. I'm wondering if I should sign up for Steam and buy the 50 dollar pack with the intention of downloading it later, although I'm not sure if that's even possible. Does anyone know how many of those games I would actually be able to play once I do get the...

Windows 7 is working great on my MBP. I'd say it worked better out of the box than XP did. I think you're OK with XP, and it would certainly have more compatibility with old games, but I wouldn't necessarily shy away from 7 because Bootcamp isn't officially supporting it. You may find 7 for cheaper than XP as well. As for the games you mentioned, Dragon Age has some slightly unreasonable system requirements from what I...

Thanks for replying, Sneaky Snake. This may sound dumb but the gaming I have done has strictly been against the computer. I don't even play on the internet. Can you explain how to join using the IP addresses? I found the IP addresses for both computers and wrote them down. I don't know what to do with them. I notice there is a space to type after creating a game. Can you walk me through the setup? Thanks

Published (2009-12-02 06:11:00)
Spiderweb Software's Jeff Vogel has offered a new blog post about the release of Avernum 6 , the conclusion of the Avernum series. Set in the world of Avernum, an enormous series of caves far below the surface of the world, the game wraps up loose plot threads from previous games and reveals the final fate of the underground realm and its popular characters. I am sending press releases to web sites today too. Why didn't I send them...

Maybe Jeff can go the TV cartoon route and recreate all the characters as babies or children.

QUOTE(PilotCrabby @ November 1st 2009, 09:48 PM) I would like to get Modern Warfare for my mac so I can play while I am away on trips. I have seen a few people having issues with Modern Warfare and Snow Leopard. Mainly the complaint is a drop in performance when using snow leopard compared to leopard. I would be using it for the multiplayer aspect, and I am wondering if I should ...

I have it, but it says you need to install the SoF 1.0.3 patch first, which is almost 40 MB. Do you have that patch? If so, send me a PM with your email address and I will email you the MP updater. Jude

My take is it's good to see classic games being updated and re-released. Unfortunately it's not available in the UK unless GameAgent has been improved. Also we know the patch is coming (much like the NWN2 patch (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif ) ) but it can't be long now as it's already effectively here.
