I did enjoy the episode to an extent - Cecil is a good villain. It's just that a lot of it felt clumsily executed. But perhaps that's just my stiff upper lip "If I so much as feel your presence, I'm going to make you a very, very famous man"

I imagine the movie flopped, so the only people who saw it are that audience and a few others. Maybe there were a couple of people who did recognise them from COPS and were able to prove it to themselves (by finding the COPS episode online, or perhaps because they had the episode on video), and I'm sure in The X Files world, they made an IMDb thread about it. First thing that comes to mind: Mrs. Peacock under the bed, saying to Scully in that incredibly creepy voice: "I can tell you don't have no children. Maybe one day you'll learn... the pride... the love... when you know your boy will do anything for his mother." Eeewwwwww...... just freaky. I think I'll go outside for awhile and just smile

According to http://x-files.wikia.com/wiki/William_(baby), it would seem as though the "uncertainty" and apprehension of the origin of Scully's baby stemmed from a fear that it had something to do with her abduction and the chip in her neck: "Knowle Rohrer, a super-soldier posing as a human intelligence operative, told Special Agent John Doggett, who had been assigned to the X-Files in 2000, that the baby was...

Mulder being on the phone with Scully and when the cop asks him who it is or something similar and he replies that it is his drug dealer. Does somebody else want to pick the next one?? Sorry son of a bitch. You don't get it do you. Its all going to hell.

I'm on the last episode of Season 1 and so I don't really have anything to go on but I think it's a really fascinating show thus far... You're in luck then, because it gets even better! :) IMO seasons 2 through 5 are the best of the show (with season 2 being my particular favorite), so everything you've already bought will be well-worth watching. For me the show took a downturn starting in ...

Scully just miraculously survived cancer, and now she gets a daughter she has to watch dying???
While I admit that this first part of the story is quite interesting and nicely leads up to the revelation at the end, I still have to say that I simply *hate* this whole turn of the mytharc.

The non-mythology mythology episode. Gethsemane basically deals with the issue of faith, in very different guises, to both Mulder and Scully. Both are tested are potentially changed, with Scully's cancer pushing her closer to the church and the testimony of a DOD G man forcing Mulder away from his belief in aliens. Oh, and there's also an alien corpse on ice. Interesting.
The teaser shows ...

Scully has dark blonde (or is that light brown?) hair in the Pilot Episode. I think this is supposed to be her natural hair colour. She changed her hair style very often during season 1, and I think the red colour actually came pretty late.

Mulder IS the father. Mulder figured it out off camera, between episodes. There was only uncertainty to create dramatic tension for the show.
