I don't think Mahogany is meant to be supernatural. All the violence is the movie is over-the-top and exagerated, however, because of Kitamura's directing style. Thanks for the response lobo...I was slightly misled by the brute strength that Mahogany seemed to display, but also by his sense of observation and the fact that he could always tell when he was being watched. Just kind of threw me off. Doesn't really make a difference I guess, just over analyzing......

If you want some good scary horror movies check out some of the early work from Dario Argento , in Italy he is none as the Italian Hitchcock, well back in the 1970's. lately his movies werent so good, his movies from the 1970's where his best work.

You mean apart from the seriously poor CGI? If anything it was one of the weakest death's I've seen in a long time. Good idea, SFX fail.

I haven't read all the hypothesis, but the tumors are simply a way of explaining the audience the decay on Vinnie Jones' body, and the fact that he's starting to lose steam. Or you could think that it is caused by the contact with the "others".

Fortunatly for you young aspiring costumed crusader meat tenderizers like this (size/design) do indeed exist and are in abundant supply. Alas I'm not sure which country you hail from and as such can't point you in a specific store direction although I'm sure wherever you are they have this flashy soccer-mums-love-us kitchen supply stores - as creepy as they may look they are definitely popular.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Especially since I disliked everything I'd seen by the director prior to this (I hated Versus). But Clive Barker's dark world drew something interesting out of him. The showdown really felt like a brutal fight to the death, whereas Versus to me was like an endless video game. I thought it sounded like B movie title. It was on demand and I had to laugh at the title. I figured it was some low budget dumhb horror movie. Its a pretty imaginative story. It was made because it was an adaptation of the short story. I thought it was really good. Strong acting, cool cinematography and one of the best horror films I've seen in a long time.
