Not really.
Martial arts movies usually require a bad guy that has corrupted martial arts and is either a bully, murderer, drug-dealer, or some other sort of villain. If he learned kung fu in some alternate spirit world just to come home to deal with a run-of-the-mill bully, it wouldn't be as good.

I can't think of much similarities with LOTR but when I saw
