Lex Luthor needs to be in a movie doing a new origin story- but they should have him just be the criminal mastermind and have the villain actually causing all the trouble be somebody like Metallo. Then there should be a second movie with Brainiac to reveal he is the true destroyer of Krypton causing Superman to emotionally be affected as a result of learning the extinction of his own race was a genocide. After that, there should be a third...

Sounds more like have J.J. Abram do the whole thing, and some serious recasting, plus making DAMN sure they have a good script (can't they have another villain for a change? Superman does have more enemies than just Luthor).

any retelling of the mythos needs to do 3 things: 1. Limit and define his powers and abilities, not just whatever power the writer of a scene wants, sort of like the animated series and he should be very limited for example he should have a reasonable limit to how much he can lift and an even lower level for what he can carry flying, and his indestructablity should have limits too, he should be super durable but not indestructable and he...

Maybe the Studio forced him into many of this ill-advised decisions (casting choices, wrong photography, impersonation of Reeves and Kidder, STUPID script) due to the overblown budget? >>> What's wrong here? The studio gave Bryan Singer carte blanch on the project. As has happened many times in the movie industry, giving a director too much freedom robs them of the all important critical thinking factor that comes...

After the financial success of both of his X-Men movies, not to mention The Usual Suspects' critical reputation, I have a hard time believing the studio would have forced too much on him.
You know what I think? The source material just wasn't a good fit for Bryan singer's sensibilities. I mean, look at Singer's other films - The Usual Suspects, apt Pupil, both X-films, Valkyrie...now, look at ...

Spacey was sufficiently evil. I could only take Hackman seriously on a couple of occasions, and most of the time, I felt as though he and Reeve were work colleagues who disliked each other. I could honestly believe that Spacey despised Routh's Superman, though, plus he just came off as being a more sinister take on the character. Even SpaceyLuthor's theme music sounded more evil as opposed to ...

1. Superman Returns
2. The Dark Knight
3. Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
4. Spiderman 2
5. Devils Rejects
6. Star Wars Eps 3: Revenge of the Sith
7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Begining- Can I count prequels?
8. Red Dragon- Another prequel
9. Shrek 2
10. Seed of Chucky- Very good for laughs
That should be the best sequel (and prequel) list of the decade.

Perhaps have you heard of " break it up a bit"? As in readable small paragraphs. When you do so, summon me.
PS: if any ideas are good they will be quickly stolen with no credit or royalties going to you. Just sayin'!

If Routh and Bosworth had been cast in a teen drama on TV, I bet people would have complained they looked too old. I liked them both in this movie. I actually believed they cared about each other.

J.J. Abrams did have a script for a Superman movie that never got filmed-
Turning in his script in July 2002, J. J. Abrams' Superman: Flyby movie was an origin story that included Krypton besieged by civil war between Jor-El and his corrupt brother, Kata-Zor. Jor-El launches infant Kal-El to Earth, thinking he would fulfill a certain prophecy and Jor-El is sentenced to prison. Kal-El is ...
