Does Aunt Beru know who Vader is?

It's because in 1977 Darth Vader had really killed a man named Anakin Skywalker and was not yet the Father of Luke in the storyline. All of that came later on as the story developed and wasn't something that was pre-thought. Originally, Darth Vader wasn't going to be the grand important character he turned out to be. There are two scenes in "Star Wars" that throw the fans off though who aren't aware that...

I think that if Owen ever would've let Luke leave the farm, it would've been right then . You can tell from Aunt Beru (mildly) admonishing him and Owen afraid of Luke being "too much like his father" that he didn't want to let Luke go and let anything happen to him. Thus, putting Luke's plans off. Intercourse the penguin!

HF-1, >> Looking back in retrospect, the story fits quite well and the two scenes are nice nods even though they didn't mean the same thing originally. >> No they are not. They are callous representations of two peoples reactions to a psychopath whom they only met once. It could just as easily be interpreted that they are laughing at the snooty little Jedi princeling who thought he was better than they were for...

conisborough, your story is bogus. "Dukes of Hazzard" didn't go on the air until 1979 - TWO YEARS AFTER Star Wars came out. So, iz you lying? 2009 : 40 Years of O.H.M.S.S

Adw1: He also stole the Death Star and Jedi (both in concept, not in name tho) from EE Smith, too. Sadly, any film that includes these ideas will be seen as a Star Wars ripoff by the young-uns, so it will be interesting to see what WILL be included in the upcoming film.... I was fortunate enough to see Star Wars IV upon original release at the now defunct Ripley Apollo. In the audience that day was non other than Sorrell Booke, Boss Hogg in the original Dukes of Hazzard TV series. At one point Hogg, likened our very own Han and Luke to Bo and Luke Duke. He immediately followed this with his trademark "Them Dukes! Them Dukes!". The tears were literally streaming down our faces. The afternoon was...

It was pretty much gasps and cheering when the Star Destroyer first passes across the screen and then quiet until the next big scene. people took it in and talked about it endlessly. Despite what some nitwits would tell you, it had not been seen before. Sure there was quality sci-fi like 2001, but it didn't have this pace. Yes there were adventure films, but not with effects of this quality. Yes, it wasn't going to win any acting...

I'm sure The Expanded Universe has some kind of complicated BS answer, but I always just assumed that the pilot is somehow "encased" when ejecting and not simply just flung out into open space to die. I figure the canopy likely remains attached or something.

If you have a copy hang on to it . . . it's very rare! Lucus has been buying and destroying every copy he can get his hands on.

I've known about this for some time and I simply throw it onto one of the many categories that have come to ruin Star Wars fandom over the years. Seeing Star Wars themed weddings, 501st members in Stormtrooper gear, lightsaber dueling schools, and such were all embarassing enough let alone this blasphemous act where they attempted to piece together their own "Church" for Star Wars. When I see ...

Well, we all went wow, we saw that space look before in 2001 Space Odyssey, and we saw that type of FX before in Ray Harryhausen fantasy films, and we saw a gold robot in Metropolis (1923) and we already saw a tall hairy thing called Bigfoot, and the black mask/cape villain reminded us of the one in Death Race 2000 (1975), and we saw x-wing vehicles (without wings) racing at any ...

I love the German dubbing of C3PO's "Sometimes I just don't understand human behaviour, after all I just..."
Maybe it's because I saw that version first, but he is actually the only character whose voice I prefer in the dub, and that hardly ever happens! In the original he sounds like a confused professor while in German he is more of an arrogant butler. And because it takes a little longer to ...

If Lucas hadn't made any of the really infamous changes, like the ones that you mentioned and the changes that force them to accept the prequels, the backlash against the SE's would not be nearly as loud. People don't really care as much about the updated special effects.* However, it was the initial refusal to even release the original trilogy on DVD that really got fans pissed. If he had ...

The simplest answer is that both Obi Wan and Yoda prepared themselves for death and gave themselves to the force, willing themselves to become one with it. Qui Gon and Mace Windu were cut down in battle (though we never see Windu's body). It doesnt seem to be an automatic thing for Jedi to disappear when they die, but something they have to make happen themselves.

It was just Star Wars when it came out in 1977. "Episode IV: A New Hope" was added to the title in video releases in the 1980's.

When the film became so popular Alec was simply pegged into just being that character and the huge film career he had established up until that point was simply overlooked in light of "Star Wars". It would eventually come to be all that he was remembered for by the general public. There was a story back in 77' of a very young boy asking Alec for his autograph to which Guinness agreed, but told ...
