Yeah I loved it. I personally thought the Harry and Hermione with the map and the connection with Siruis and how Harry still loved Siruis. "The map never lies" I loved all the delted scenes. I didn't care they restated the already-known: a 161 minute HP movie is perfect for me. "One man's death is a tragedy. A million men's deaths is a strategy"- Joseph Stalin

"They are adaptions but not separate entities." No, they are in fact seperate entities. Nothing in the books matters in reference to the films. In the books, Ginny kissed Harry after a game. In the movies this never happened, and instead she kissed him elsewhere. Once the movie is made, the book in irrelevant in relation to the movie. The book can not and should not be used to analyze the movie whatsoever. "It does...

Each media (book/film) can and should stand on its own as its own creation. But that does not make them separate entities. They are two sides of the same coin. Certainly differences between the book and films is permissable. I never said otherwise as long as the film adaptions remains true to the books. In the case of Harry Potter this is true. In PoA Hermione uses bombarda instead of reducto. In GoF Harry uses reducto. In OotP both are used...

I write this with the full knowledge that New Moon received an A- from CinemaScore. HPATHBP got an A- and so did UP. It is hard to get onto their website www.cinemascore.com, but E! online quotes them all the time. They are pretty good at picking out successes and bombs. Here is a long article out of the LA Times describing what they do. http://articles.latimes.com/2009/oct/13/entertainment/et-bigpicture13 CinemaScore's box-office swami...

I dunno. Love Rickman, but his acting always is positioned precariously between great and campy. I'd go... 1. Oldman 2. Gambon 3. Broadbent 4. Maggie Smith 5. Rickman __________________________________ "A tree is best measured when it's down."

Cars can drive at Hogwarts. Remember the Weasley's car? It could drive easily on the grounds of Hogwarts. You can't fly into Hogwarts (I believe Dumbledore had to do a special spell to get past the boundary in HBP, you can't apparate anywhere on Hogwarts grounds (except when they lift the protection in the Gerat Hall for the students to practice). While all these trolls have been harrassing the fans here about the film, has anyone noticed that it is currently the third highest moneymaker worldwide this year and did it in 12 days while Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (33 days) and ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS (26 days) twice as long?

New Moon will not gross $900 million. Therefore no, New Moon won't overtake it.

By 'losing streak' I take it you expect the Harry Potter movies to win Oscars? The only big budget fantasy movies to win Oscars in the past decade was Lord of the Rings, and the Academy waited until Return of the King to give it to them.
The cinematography for HBP was amazing, as was the score. I wouldn't be surprised if it got nominated, but the academy like small films.

The black smoke first appeared in Goblet of Fire. I think many assumed this was supposed to be apparation. But in Order of the Phoenix the twins are shown moving instantly from place to place without any smoke. This was more in accord with apparation as described in the book so the smoke as apparation became questionable. Later in the film people move in black or in white smoke further confusing ...

I have always pronouced it in my head with a silent "k" sound. Also, Knut is actually a name if it isn't a silent "k", so I think that it should be silent.

1.Half Blood Prince
2.Order of the Phoenix
3.Prisoner of Azkaban
4.Goblet of Fire
5.Philosopher's Stone
6.Chamber of Secrets
Same as your order except Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire tend to be interchangeable for me.
