but when I saw the trailers there was a scene in which a prawn was like being interrogated and said "we just wanna go home, why won't you let us leave?" It only appeared in the trailers. Somewhat of a teaser I suppose. and I think it's very important! because as it is never explained where the aliens came from or, more importan, WHY The talking heads speculated about why they were there. It only took my ex girlfriend a semester to learn how to speak french AND spanish. Granted, they were already established languages, however, 20 years is more than long enough for aliens and mainly the MNU to learn how to understand each other precisely. 2011: untitled sci-fi flick from - Neill Blomkamp.

Is it meant to imply that he'll vaporize them into goo like he did the other poor bastard? As in, they'll be taken home in a jar? If so, then HAH. I never knew what he said in that scene. Oh my god, its not a kid in a costume! ITS A LIVING THING!

What annoys me is how he simply can't seem to respect other people's opinions. He's forcing everyone to agree with him, at least...that's how i see it. I'm sorry friend, but it's not working. I enjoyed the movie alot, nothing will change that. Whether that's unacceptable for you or not, i really don't give a *beep* :)

And now let's discuss the eschatological elements of the Transformers mythos : is Megatron really an incarnation of the 101th avatar of Shiva ?

I'm guessing it was because the film was financed by American and New Zealand companies. I believe " QED" is from New Zealand.

Well everyone should know that before Neil was director he was a special effects guys and did all the CGI for his short films, so I bet he knows how to make CGI look more life-like.
It's kinda lika having a proffesional animator direct an animated movie.
Michale Bay knows *beep* about directing and much less about special effects, so yeah.

Well firstly I don't think that the accent should've really mattered that much but it does speak to the ignorance of the viewing public that we can't distinguish between various accents.
Secondly, I don't believe that it was out of place to use ' crime boss' type crime lords because, as I understand it, corruption is rampant throughout the continent of Africa with a few exceptions but ...

I agree there are 'cheap' plot moves, such as the fuel changing Wikus into one of the aliens, but I'd just like to point out that I would love to cum all over your little mouth.

My favorite quote has to be: "I WILL TAKE YOU HOME IN A F#CKING JAR!"
The delivery was vicious.

The hero is an anti hero. And those whites are at least as evil/criminal as the black gang members. Apart from supplementary characters, like wife, parents, social worker etc.
But now that you say it, I totally agree. In fact, I'm appalled those company crooks and Mengele type medics were played by whites. They should have been black. This must be a racist film.
Amazing what people require ...

Dear friend,
taste and comprehension is not a democratic issue. Meaning it's not necessarily the majority which counts, even if there was one. Where I myself would rather call that just a provocative and unsubstantiated all caps claim of yours. I trust though you'd agree to the former statement at least when applied to the rating of this film.
That said, even if there was that majority ...

Fair point there Copyright1994, and I certainly bear what you say in mind, but based on the number of people out there who talk complete trash, you really are preaching to the choir. I gave the movie a 10, but only because it was the genre of film that I liked, I thought it was a refreshing and original concept, and I really enjoyed it; I haven't felt this good about a film in years.
NOT ...

You're an intelligent one. Anyway...
When I began to watch it, I was delighted, thought it was the first real sci-fi film in years (if ever)... when it ended, I wasn't so happy. Mostly because there was too much action with a stupid lab assault and that hypercretinous robocop thing. The so-called plot holes actually aren't such, at least not those in regards to the [undescribed] reaction of ...

Sharlto Copley pulled off one of the most naturalistic "human" performances for a lead in a film like this that I've seen in a long time. None of that perfectly scripted, boy-next-door, exposition spouting, one-line dropping nonsense we've gotten used to lately.
He played a real cocky asshxF6;le who got a stiff wake up shot in the ass and he played him well. Uninteresting would be the any ...

I only heard about it on the news here in NZ because Peter Jackson produced it. I thought it sounded vaguely interesting, but the only trailer or tv spot I ever saw for it was the interrogation bit - "Why are you here?", "We just want to go home."
I'm glad I gave it a shot though, because I loved it and went back about four more times to the cinema to see it.
"Because he's not a hero. ...
