Adrian retired, but he stayed active. In the comic there is a scene on TV of him doing things Olympic athletes couldn't. He is the smartest man in the world and probably the most athletic man in the world. And in the comic, the fight was MUCH shorter. He caught a bullet. Is him beating Rorschach so surprising? _________________ May the Force be with you! My Website: GalaxiesAndComics.com

Really, and you have proof of that, moviemaniac, or did you pull those "facts" right out of thin air? If the DVD sales were skyrocketing through the roof, then why did video stores start selling off previously viewed copies of Watchmen only about three weeks after release, and why are previously viewed copies of Watchmen selling for so cheaply at Blockbuster Video, and Hollywood Video!

I take it you're on the level. So maybe what you're looking for is soap, which is at the grocery store. They sell food there. Are you the guy who told me he had three testicles? Follow my leader! Catch you later!

Didn't they have assigned streets to patrol though? I remember Silk Spectre II and Dr. Manhattan had a little discussion in the GN concerning that.

I'm with Fish on this one. I saw it three times in theaters (2 full-price, 1 2nd-run) between the full price and 2nd run theater I bought the book. It had marketing problems, since it wasn't Spider-Man but it wasn't and indie film either and it didn't bomb but also didn't recoup the expenses, there is a grey area (if you didn't learn @ least that from this movie, you should watch it again and stay awake this...

Hyperbole and exaggeration. It's not a big deal who say's it. The important thing is that the line is still in the movie. Who Watches the Persians?

1. I'm not a "fanboy." The movie was pretty good, the book was great.
2. Most people who have read the book prefer the book.
3. That's the people you know.
4. "Most people did not like this movie." Correction: most people that read the book did not like this movie.

I've got Dan Dreiberg's diffidence, his uncertainty, his loyalty to his friends. Oh, and a bit of Dr. Manhattan's aloofness.

I suppose it entirely depends on how you wish the list to be perceived. As it stands, it's a list of your personal favourite cult films. I suppose any such list of "top ten" is always going to be subjective, so I wouldn't worry about it.

i remember Snyder saying something about this in an interview.
That he wanted the line closer to the very end of the film, like in the last few shots, to really drive it home to the audience so they remember it. so they gave it to laurie.
i dont know where the interview is, but i do recall it

I'd like to point out that there is no "Watchmen." The two teams are the Minutemen and the Crimebusters. There is no group per se called the Watchmen. Watchmen is more or less a term used by the people and the media to describe the masked heroes.
The Minutemen (the one Silk Spectre I and Nite Owl I were part of) were more of a team than the Crimebusters.
The Crimebusters wasn't much. The ...

When it has a 130mil price tag?
I don't think anyone is saying the numbers were bad, really. Had this movie cost about 50 million or so, it would be seen as a sucess, seeing as it delivered OK numbers at the B.O., but nothing special.
The main reason it is considered a flop is that it did not make enough money in respect to its budget, and it haemorrhaged business rapidly after that big ...

Well, it definitely couldn't be translated to film because of the intricate way it was set up in the GN. The people who moan about the squid's absence should think about that.

Question for the OP: Have you seen the Ultimate Cut of the film? The theatrical cut of this film is terrible. The UC is astounding, imo.

The movie itself is not as Razzie-worthy as the "lead" actress is. In other words- Malin Akerman FTW.

It spent some time on the top 250 already. Top 100 even, not long after its release. But yeah, maybe it'll go up again in the future.
