In the beginning and end of the movie we see people in a park. Everybody freezes and kills themself except for 2 people. Why are they immune? Or did I miss something?

It is just like "An Inconvenient Truth". A load of lies presented in a Hysteria provoking way. At least the lies of "An Inconvenient Truth" where exposed. This movie is just a "green" propaganda to make people scared and it is trying to trick the viewer to think that there is science behind this movie (All the pseudo science talk by the hero and the TV guys). Plants just can't evolve ...

interesting to see, that a LOT of people are really confused by "not-standard-simple-always-same-made-stories" is it that hard to watch a movie, with not the basic action movie plot in it? me for myself am studying film and was pretty amazed by that movie! m.night shyamalan is experimenting and i like it.. I didnt like this at all, boring and stupid but had some fun parts. I would call this movie: "Whats going on?"

I loved this movie but i was solidly disturbed by it. Just seeing people killing themselves like its normal, without hesitation, whatever the way they do it, no mather if its singular (knitting needle) or absolutely atrocious (lawnmower). This specific scene with the lawnmower totally freaked me out. He just lies down and pull his hand under to be sure it sucks him up in... I'm still ...

Marky Mark says "The event must of stopped as soon as I walked out here" wtf, so damn stupid, this whole film was stupid. The acting was god-awful, especially wahlbergs girlfriend, she was beyond horrible. Every scene she was in she would look into the camera and give some sort of weak-ass pity look. The premise did have some potential but the horrid dialogue, and bad acting ...

So far everyone thinks that trees killed everyone. Think back to the speech that Walberg gave at the beginning. He was talking about how the bee population is decreasing and no one was sure why but they were eventually going to come up with something to write in the books. Through this entire movie they were coming up with more bogus explanations for why the "happening" was happening...

mark wahlbergs voice in this...sounded...well not to be stereotypical although this is...Gay at some points? or what, often, the very feminine gay men sound like?

and unbelievable actions by the characters in this film ( guy fires shotgun out of window kills two kids nobody runs ) spoil the good idea at the heart of this movie. Also the good idea goes absolutley nowhere , it comes to a dead halt.

i'm sorry, i'm not bashing but my opinion is this movie was horrible. i love mark wahlberg and i've seen him do some excellent movies. he was up for best supporting in departed for christ sakes. so how could such a talented actor suddenly alternate himself to be absolutely atrocious in this movie. did this strike anyone else odd? Yeah I just ate and i'm still digesting so my kung fu...

i loved this movie because like a lot of other m night schymalan's movies they require you to THINK. what i dont understand is how people knock off movies they dont understand and call them stupid.I haven't been disappointed by m night as of yet. The Villiage was even a great story but people bag on that too. Its pretty clear that the Happening may be about global warming. Its a warning...

Alright, Well... I thought this movie was good. I would give it a 7.5/10. What I got out of it was that it isn't the plants that made the deaths and wreaked havoc on the East Coast. The distributor should give full refunds to the unlucky swines who went to the cinema! To everyone who bought the DVD take it back to the shop and ask for a refund stating "This movie is GARBAGE!" I enjoyed this movie. The suicides were pretty disturbing, and the plot was fairly unbelievable. However a non believable plot has never stopped me enjoying a movie. I dont have to believe in long time ago in a galaxy far far away to enjoy star wars. And just to clear up the talking to a tree point. Dont read the reviews and believe them it was a plastic tree it was meant to be ...
