It happens all the time with the iPhone...so I guess that is an iPhone problem not an AT&T problem, but the inability to send a text is AT&T. I am doing to shoot myself in the *beep* head. I have to get out of here. I'm gonna lose it. 3 hours, 42 minutes...way too long. Heat plot over medium-high heat in saucepan, stirring occasionally until plot thickens.

How about, "There's the one staying put on his proper plate and the one getting smashed in a person's face"? That's the best I can do.

A: Ohh, New Moon...when you said "Horror related" I assumed it was a horror film. The answer to your question is Bright Star, which I had wanted to see but never got around to seeing (my English Literature class was supposed to go but never did). Q: I have rented a copy of a film from last year starring a British actress who many though would be nominated for Best Actress Oscar but never was. However, the actress did win...

I wouldn't be caught dead watching those things. I've read excerpts from the books and, IMO, they are cringe-worthy. I don't get their popularity. Good for Jamie, though. It will certainly help his career. I just wish he'd leave Burton out of it. When I read that he suggested Burton should direct one of those monstrosities, I wanted to clobber him. It's funny how actors should never go full retard. But Leo should ONLY...

Rox - Tim Burton didn't write the screenplay. If I may suggest - You'd do well to familiarize yourself the the libretto of the Stage Play. Sorry, but you are grasping at straws where none exist. I'm guilty of the same thing when it comes to LOST. No-no-no...Mr. Trickster does not like pretty-boy angels.

The books are truly horrific. I mean, it really amazes me that anybody actually cares about this crap, but they obviously do. I do sort of want to watch the movies out of some masochistic self punishment. Maybe I ought to sing the Judge's Johanna as I do it... I just feel that with movies like those, I actually have to see them to be able to fairly criticize them. I'll go in knowing I'll hate it, but it can be fun to watch with...

Wow. That house looks nice. We could never afford anything like that around here. At least not right now. Once we pay off all of our debt and I start teaching and C starts nursing...hell yeah. We gonna find us a kick-ass house down in the NC.
If I were you, and I had the means to do so, I'd jump all over that house. It needs a little TLC, but most houses do. And the kitchen is magnificent. ...

I only went because my oldest wanted to see this and I did it so she'd stop talking about it. I knew that Jamie was in it as one of the "ancients". I thought he did the best he could with his limited lines. Heck, they all looked strange and I didn't recognize Dakota Fanning at first, either.

Thanks for posting, vermontfudge! A very entertaining review.
If you pressed me to pick my favorite slasher, I would pick the one who wears a cravat and sponsors a recycling program. He may not be as physically terrorizing as Jason, Freddy, or Michael Myers, but Sweeney is just as ruthless. Recycling program, LOL. I never really thought of it that way...
But Sweeney is a villain I ...

I recall that we would get posts from people that claimed that the BBC version was actually better. That the story was better, better without music, etc. I managed to find a youtube of it a long time ago. It's def a typical BBC production.
I do enjoy many of the BBC exports that I catch here, and don't mind the low ...

Mrs. Lovett is a force of nature, and HBC simply wasn't. Breathy and wispy is exactly how I would describe her voice.
I liked a lot of things about her performance, including her singing in some of the quieter numbers, like "My Friends" and "Wait," but overall she was not up to the challenge.

No, it wouldn't have been better, because the music and lyrics are the aspects that add all of the emotion to this story. Some of the actors weren't great singers (HBC) but I personally thought all of their voices suited their parts (ie Lovett in this film is a bit of a waif and her voice is wispy). And I thought Johnny Depp's raw, rough around the edges voice suited his part perfectly as well....

You're allowed to believe what you want, but all I know is that the idea of Anthony being Sweeney's son was NEVER in the original story. Unless Tim Burton wanted to go a different route for the film. But the dialogue is just edited, not changed completely to make me even think that Anthony could be his son. He's just a sailor who happened to spot Sweeney trying to escape prison, and who ...

That's our Mrs. Lovett all right. She's ruthless, self-serving and has turned rationalising to an art. And that's why we lover her so.
It's funny how actors should never go full retard. But Leo should ONLY go full retard.

Many of the songs were cut for time or content. Sondheim made all of the final decisions. Some songs were cut out completely. The ones I remember off the top of my head as cut down are The Contest (Pirelli's song), A Little Priest, God That's Good, and By the Sea (I'm sure there are others). Some songs eliminated completely are (Judge's) Johanna and Parlor Songs (would come right when Beadle ...
